5 out of 5 eggsRTI A7's Great Speakers

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: I love these speakers! I have them paired with a Harman Kardon AVR 1700 as of now but I'm for the release of the AVR 3700 which is 25 more watts per channel. The clarity is awesome and the deal I got on them was amazing. I almost went with the RTI10's but sonically they were not much different on my 100watt per channel reciever.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Using a Polk CSR center speaker and it is even more amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent choice

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: Using a pair of RtiA-7 for Fronts. They sound great, plenty of clear sound for both music and video watching. clear details and crystal sound. The more power you give them the better they sound.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: system: Onkyo TX-NR809 135 wpc, Polk Audio Cs20 Rti4 surround, Ymaha YST 315 Sub

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!!

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: I've checked out many speakers & for the price that I bought at I didn't go wrong! These are my first Polk Audio speakers that I've owned. I was looking at Energy, Mirage, & Definitive Technology as suitable for my needs but matching quality, sound, & price I bought these & am very satisfied. The sound is so melodious & pleasing to the ears as is the style pleasant to the eye. I listen to many types of genres from Pink Floyd, Enigma, Madonna, to Akon & throw the wattage to them so loud that I cannot be in the same room & yet they stay crisp & clear w/ that nice bass Thump!...

Keep in mind that having great sound from speakers requires a well-built receiver unit & one cannot sacrifice either as it is a must!

I have these speakers connected to my Pioneer Elite VSX-52 THX cert. receiver & matched with the Polk Audio CS20 Center Speaker of which balances very nicely. (Another great buy btw!) I'm waiting to get the Polk Audio surrounds of my choice here soon.

Cons: Ah... how about none!

Other Thoughts: In all of my research in home audio theater/electronics, I highly recommend Polk Audio, Energy, Mirage, Definitive Technology, & Klipsch as the mainstream in home audio entertainment pieces. Many others though may seem to be great are made of poorer quality materials & cost you more up front such as Bose. It is always best if you can visit a store to listen to various speakers through various receiver units & then make your decision & save money by buying them online. Lol! I do all of the time!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat deal

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: Very pleased with these as L/R fronts and have them paired with the CSiA6 center being run by a Onk 509 with the new 550wi for the sub and 2 FXiA6s as surrounds (4 RC85i's wait for the Onk 1009 9.2 to go full surround). My music library is invigorated with life like vocals and amazing clarity from the mid ranges. I'm not a huge fan of punchy bass but find that I temper the sub volume back to allow the A7s do their magic for as much of the mid/low levels.

Cons: My only complaint is that I waited so long before actually making the purchase. Buy these early and buy them often and dont look back. They have a modest MSRP but if you keep a good eye out for specials/weekend deals you can find them at a very reasonable price.

Other Thoughts: I did a LOT of reading as none of my local retailers carry the RTiA line. So it was a bit of a leap of faith buying something I had never actually listened to before. Other retailers tried to steer me away from Polk saying this or that about sound/performance vs price. But they always ended up showing me speakers that were significantly more expensive that were hooked up to the best Amp in the store. When I had them run a 'mid range' amp the much higher priced speakers lost ground quickly. And that is when it became clear the 'high end/$' with better response and internals did not sound as clean or clear cut head and shoulders above the mid line Polks (TSi's were the top of the line in store Polks). Short of spending a lot more money on the best amp and not having the budget to get the "best" speakers to accompany the high end amp, I went with the concept of get the best speakers to complete the layout (5.1/7.1/9.2 etc) and find the first receiver that supports the desired layout/watt

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: Excellent sound - which is what it is all about. Front is rather narrow so they don't visually take over the room. Very solid. They also come with carpet spikes. I like having the bi-amp option.

Cons: They are heavy - but that is actually a good thing.

Other Thoughts: New Egg's price was less than what lower quality speakers would cost and free shipping was a huge plus. No issues with shipping even though they were close to 70 pounds - each.

I was also thinking of the A9's but chose these because of the lower power requirements and A9's are even bigger and heavier.

5 out of 5 eggsNice speakers, nice price.

This review is from: Polk Audio RTI A7-Black High Performance Floorstanding Loudspeaker Single

Pros: Nice looking cabinets, clean compact towers, well balanced sound qualities. Wife would approve of these, they fit in well, look nice and sound great. NewEgg pricing and delivery were exceptional as usual.

Cons: None that I have noted.

Other Thoughts: I purchased these to replace some 30 year old, ESS Heil AMT1 speakers that I have liked for 30 years. The Polks sound quality is on a par with these, and I have heard few other speakers I say that about. Sound quality is somewhat subjective, and we all like different sound attributes, but for the modest cost, these certainly both look good and sound good to me. NewEggs pricing was better than any other online dealer that I have found for a pair of these. I would recommend them.
