Polk Audio presents speakers so tough that even a desert war zone can't kill them. The Atrium4 speakers feature stainless steel and brass hardware to eliminate rust worries, even outside. These speakers meet or exceed various government standards for salt fog, immersion, salt and corrosion tests. The 5-way binding posts are gold plated to prevent corrosion.
The speakers are a 4.5" mid/woofer with a mineral filled polymer cone and a 0.75" Anodized Aluminum dome tweeter with Neodymium motor structure. The sculpted front baffle and round enclosure minimize diffraction and deliver a more open, natural sound. The aluminum grill is 55% open for superior sound transmission without compromising the protection it gives the cones.
Pros: clear accurate sound, fast shipping, easy installation
Cons: none so far
Other Thoughts: i somewhat agree with other reviews, saying that bass is a little weak. however for the size of the speaker, it is very adequate

Pros: Good Sound, Good Mounting
Cons: Weak in the Bass end
Other Thoughts: I have a set of these in my bathroom. I have 6 sets of the Polk Audio Monitor 30 throughout my apartment. The Monitor 30 have better bass than these Atrium 4. The quality of the sound from the Atrium 4 is good but the bass end is a weak. I just wanted a set of speakers to handle the moisture in the bathroom, so far so good. I rated them 4 eggs because of the weak bass end and i think they are a little over priced.

Good Outdoor Speakers
Pros: Excellent clarity - I have no distortion problems whatsoever. Mounting brackets provide for multiple mounting options and angels. Speed-Lock Mounting System really simplifies the mounting and adjustment process.
Cons: Minimal bass response, but that is to be expected from a speaker this size - still sound good. Frivolous label on grill face leaves adhesive that must be cleaned off after label is removed.
Other Thoughts: Have these mounted outside on lower level of two level deck. The mounting bracket allows for these to be mounted to bottom of upper deck support beam, angled downwards at 45 degrees.
