Pros: none

Cons: Bought months ago for new house under construction, spent another $150 for wireless kit. Finally hooked it up and lasted one hour, called Polk, they told me to send in amp, tried to get it out and broke the cheap plastic holding connection to speaker. then they said to send in amp and speaker, but infra red receiver is glued to cabinet, so I spent $68 sending the entire unit to Polk in CA. Got it back, does not work, remote does nothing, tried wireless, then rca, nothing. They are sending a label so I can ship back to CA. Good thing I bought a Klipsch while waiting and it works. Polk says they will not send a new subwoofer, just keep wasting time on a defective unit. I will never buy Polk again.

5 out of 5 eggsA clean and tight bass recipe.

Pros: It is a great sub if you use it the way it needs to be used.

Cons: Not a single one, if you do everything right.

Other Thoughts: People just take it out of the box , put it anywhere they want and expect it to perform. It never works this way with speakers, especially with subs. Placement is a key issue - subs are very picky and discriminating here, if you put a sub in the wrong place, you might hear it in the next room but not where you sit.. The solution is easy - put a sub where you usually sit, turn it on and then start walking around your room until you find a spot where bass is the best... That's the sweet spot for your sub.
Also, do not turn it all the way up right away, allow at least 15-20 hours of break-in time, the time needed for the driver to start operating properly. And finally, if you want a tight clean bass - put a 2 inch granite slab underneath the sub, and another one on top of it. BUT.. !!! you have to put spikes in the sub feet, they can be purchased for 8 bucks at partsexpress... Trust me, you will not recognize your sub after that. And, of course, use a decent cable.... If you do all of the above, you will be very happy with your purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsPolk Audio DSWPRO 660wi 12" Sub

Pros: Great Sub!...Looks and feels high quality. Plenty of power for that low end umph. I'm using this with my older infinity 12" 300 watt sub and this sub over takes it. Cool remote for different options and a cool blue led around the logo of sub which you can turn off.

Cons: Box was pretty beat up!...but to be fair I bought an open box item and everything inside was just fine. Probably was just alot of shipping around.

Other Thoughts: Would like to buy the wireless adapter for this sub to try. I don't really need it though. I'm using this with my pioneer vsx- 1121 receiver and polk audio cs1 center, LR monitor 70's, and monitor 30's for the rears. All series 2, they all look and sound great together.

4 out of 5 eggsNot everything I dreamed of

Pros: The sub is huge, are seriously heavy. Seems well built, touching it just creates the impression of high quality. Got it for 329 w free shipping

Cons: Don't get me wrong when I talk about cons here - this is a great sub, that can kick you know what of most subs money can buy. But because this is the best and most expensive sub that Polk has I just entered the transaction with perhaps too high expectations. I had a low end Polk sub before, and it was fantastic, regardless of the low price. This thing I expected to be a house destroyer.

But it is not. It can get very loud, and you can physically feel the beats, but then it starts to distort a little. If I keep the volume low, then it doesn't kick as hard as I want it to, although on low volume it does kick clean.

Other Thoughts: Also, for some weird reason, i can feel the bass stronger in the next room than in the room it is. This thing goes through walls like nothing.

I am now thinking that this is HT and not a music sub. It just doesn't hit like a music sub. I have a C300 in my car, made for music, and when I turn it up it's like someone hits you with a rubber hammer on every beat. This one can't make the hits, it's like it's lacking in peak power. For HT you can turn the volume A LOT higher without distortion because there are no beats and no peaks. Then you can feel the muscle of this thing. But for music, after all that power on paper.. I really expected more.

5 out of 5 eggsIt gets down

Pros: This has plenty of power and the ability to really reinforce those low rumbles in films. At the same time, it works well for music. Lots of adjustments are available using the remote control, and you will need to experiment a bit to get the best sound. As suggested by another reviewer, I get better sound with it on a piece of carpet vs. a hard floor. It is fairly compact for a sub containing a 12-inch driver, with a handsome cabinet. An LED-lit Polk emblem on the front lets you know the sub is on and when remote control signals are received; it can be turned off.

Cons: None with the sub so far. UPS managed to split one side of the box, but no damage to the sub resulted.

Other Thoughts: I got this for a great price from Newegg (about 55% of list) when they apparently were having specials for all Polk speakers. You may want to wait for another sale. This is the first audio component I have seen assembled in Vietnam!

4 out of 5 eggsOwner for 2 years now

Pros: This sub was a good buy from NewEgg and handles my deep bass for my 13X 17 room no problem - use the sub's front firing option and works great - 250 does not sound like much but the electronics work great ..

Cons: Blue Status LED should have a hard lite switch and is too bright -
The speaker should have come with a speaker grill. the site says you can get one but you can't - the remote to turn off the LED has a hard time finding the em-miter on front firing

Other Thoughts: sub of the new subs no longer need wires which look interesting..

2 out of 5 eggsDSW 660 WI

Pros: Sounds great when it works

Cons: The amp has gone out twice and Pold has refused to replace te sub, they keep repairing it.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this sub end of June 2011 , my system was set up mid September. The Sub sounds great , real deep bass and I got it for an awesome price however the sub has gone out twice and Polk has refused to place it. I live locally in San Diego Area and took it to Polks facility in vista. Both times the tech didn't give me any paperwork and I believe I got a defective product but they refuse to replace it. I've own other Polk products and have never had an issue with them. Right now though I'm really frustrated with Polks customer service. It's been a week and still no paperwork and I've requested it several times.

5 out of 5 eggsA beast

Pros: True 20hz reproduction for a $350 sub is hard to beat.
Nice finish on the cabinet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I've owned a lot of subs that were 2-4X as much in price and this polk is very comparable in output.

5 out of 5 eggsSounds Great

Pros: Great sound. Compared to a few comparable priced subs, I think this sub sounds the best. I have tried the Epik Legend which I found to be horrendous. I have tried the Polk PSW505 which I actually loved except when it tries to produce very low notes. This causes very awful port noise. But for 99% of the time, I loved it. So here I am trying this model.

So far I love it. The sound is great, and it looks awesome as well. There are a few issues with it but I feel that these can be resolved very easily. It is foolish in my opinion to expect a great sounding sub-woofer without some tweaking.

Bottom line, is that it sounds awesome, and it looks awesome. More powerful and cleaner than the PSW505. Front or down firing positions are possible. You can use the remote to adjust volume since the amp will be inaccesbile while in the front firing configuration.

Cons: I have hard floors, and when this sub is in down firing configuration, I am unable to turn the sub-woofer up more than halfway without very bad distortion. I picked the sub up off the ground and the distortion goes away. I suppose the reflecting sound waves are causing the woofer to not function optimally. I believe this would not be a problem if one had a sub-woofer pad to place this on, or perhaps carpeted floors. Another option would be to place the sub in the front firing configuration. This is what I did and the sub sounds much cleaner for me. Better than all the subs I have mentioned above. However, due to the amp being face down in this configuration, this leaves the cables at a very sharp angle as they are being squished between the bottom and the floor. Once again, I think this is an easy fix. I fancy myself somewhat handy and I believe I could easily make the feet a half inch longer with some cheap supplies from the Home Depot.

Other Thoughts: New Egg customer service is awesome. UPS destroyed my package and New Egg has replaced it free of charge. This is the best sub I have heard in my home theater. It fills the room and my neighbor across the street introduced himself to me and continued to complain about the music coming from my house which he claims shake his windows. Sucks for him. If you like the PSW505, then this one is even better. No distortion when properly set up and just an absolute beast. AND it looks classy. Much more high end looking than the PSW505. I recommend grabbing one.
