For the streamer in us all.
Ah, to have a flat panel speaker that matches the flat panel television. No more speaker boxes strewn about the room, no more wiring clutter. And yet, there is no sacrificing audio quality or deep bass effects for movies and even gaming. Polk Audio SurroundBar 5000 IHT with just 2.25” depth can do it! It features Bluetooth Wireless Technology for clear, loss-less streaming from mobile gadgets like smart phones and tablets. Now your music can be heard, in dynamic CD-quality reproduction, with no wires and no complex setups or calibrations. Polk engineers have designed the ultimate Bluetooth speaker that’s also the ultimate single-speaker home theater & subwoofer system: The SurroundBar 5000 IHT. On-board Dolby Digital processing enables it to connect directly to your TV, DVD or Blu-Ray player, or gaming console. Keep streaming!
Pros: easy to set up

Easy setup, No clutter, Great sound
Pros: Works straight out of the box, setup took minutes, sounds so much better than stock TV speakers, even the wife was impressed. Had to turn levels way down during first use, whole apartment was shaking from the sub. Remote is simple and straightforward (credit card style) with seperate level control for speaker and sub. Was also able to use device with my Logitech Harmony 650 Universal Remote without any custom setup.
Cons: Only 1 optical input, which comes out of the bottom of the unit, which means you have to either use the flimsy stock cable that comes with it or make sure you upgrade to one that has a 90 degree adapter on one end (found this out after buying one that didn't). Same is true for the 1/8" analog inputs. If male adapter is too long/not 90 degrees bar won't sit properly. Bluetooth adapter works, but is very weak, my phone had to be within 4 feet of soundbar to connect properly.
Other Thoughts: List price was only 399.95 when I bought this on 12/11/12, but now lists at 599.99. Even when on sale it costs more now than it did a few weeks ago. Very happy with purchase, especially since it was on 40% off sale when I bought it, but not sure I would buy it at current price point. Wish it had another optical input for my BluRay player instead of analog.
