The Dead Cat Windscreen is designed for minimizing any wind noise when recording in high wind conditions. Its artificial fur is specially designed so as to minimize wind noise while remaining acoustically transparent.
Seems to work great
This review is from: Rode Dead Cat Microphone Wind Muff
Pros: Seems sturdy, doesn't feel flimsy. Although it's made of plastic, it's glass reinforced which makes it much stronger then it appears. The rubber bands that isolate any camera noise seem to work very well.
Cons: Not really a con but if you don't set your mic to manual on your camera and get it set for your current environment you may find its picking up more then you want.
Other Thoughts: As far as a decent quality shoe mount mic goes, you can't go wrong with this one. I have several friends in the field shooting with Canon DSLR's and they all have this mic with the deadcat wind silencer . Mainly used to shoot $50,000+ weddings.
