The PLAISIR range optimizes 30 years of experience in loudspeaker development by TRIANGLE. Whatever your taste may be, TRIANGLE PLAISIR speakers will be true to the music you love, from the subtleties of chamber music to the massive dynamics of a rock concert.

The TRIANGLE Research Team has always concentrated on three essential qualities for their drivers: transparency, dynamics and openness. Combined with advanced crossover technology, TRIANGLE PLAISIR speakers will let you feel the music more than ever before. With its timeless design and Wenge finish, the PLAISIR range speaker will easily fit in any home interior.

  • newegg Titanium dome tweeter The PLAISIR tweeter makes use of a extra powerful neodymium motor and a titanium dome. The small damping chamber at the back of the dome eliminates backwaves and internal reflections, thus improving detail retrieval in the higher frequencies. The titanium dome produces very rich harmonics, making the PLAISIR speakers excel on strings, cymbals and wind instruments to name a few. Sweet yet detail-rich highs bring air into the music. Advanced crossover layout allow for a seamless fusion of the treble with the midrange and the bass.
  • newegg Paper cone midrange driver For the past 30 years, TRIANGLE has always relied upon paper cones for their midrange drivers. The midrange drive unit loaded in the PLAISIR range use all of TRIANGLE’s stand-alone technologies : paper cone (tropicalized to stand high humidity), multi-pleat suspension, oversized motor and phase plug. The result is a natural tone combined with a great sense of openness and transparency : the slightest variations in a voice become obvious, all the intentions of the musicians become clear to you.
  • newegg Reasonably sized speakers Standing at only 965mm and 188mm in width, the PLAISIR FLOORSTANDER will fit into your interior, without invading your personal space. Combined with one of the discrete subwoofers from the TRIANGLE range, PLAISIR speakers easily blend with your furniture.

5 out of 5 eggsInitially Poor until 30 days later

Pros: - soundstage comes to life
- The show, "The Voice" feels LIVE
- Action movie is captivating to watch
- Solid built and heavy

Cons: - sounded really bad out of the box
- Bass was tight and "thuddy"
- took days and many hours to break in
- Definitely need a sub to fill low end bass

Other Thoughts: Either my ears got use to it or the speakers really broke itself into what I called the best speakers I've ever own; it doesn't matter because I cannot wait to watch TV with the A/V on blast for anything. It could be soap operas, movies, music channels, sports, even the NEWS...everything sounds amazeballs! But it did take about 20-30hrs of continuous play to break it in. I didn't know what listening fatigue was until it was plugged in the first time. I could only listen to it for an hour before the listening fatigue sets in, forcing me to turn off the darn thing. after 2.5 weeks, I noticed the highs toned down a bit, the low end base doesn't sound as tight and the mids sounded much warmer than it was before. I came soo close to returning it and I am very glad I didn't. I finally just submitted my rebate to make it an official purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice

Pros: I got two of these and a triangle center channel to use on my vizio 70" LCD and sony receiver. I planned on getting the bookshelf speakers later but now they're gone. Even with just the three speakers and my existing Sub these sound very good. I'm not an audiophile but I like to think i can appreciate very clear speakers. I didn't pick up on the brightness that some other reviewers mentioned they sound perfect. I have the setup in a very large room with hardwood and granite counters and not much absorbent surfaces so I was worried what it might sound like but even in my setup they sound amazing. The tweeters capture every little pin drop and the woofers have great mids. You'll definately need a subwoofer for deeper bass though.

Cons: I bought these on sale at a great price and then as soon as I did newegg lowered the price even more.

Other Thoughts: packaging was very good, no damage to the cabinet. Cabinet quality seems very well made and sturdy. it's hefty which I like. Overall for the money I can't see getting any other speakers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Balanced presentation top to bottom, engaging detail without being annoying, impressive bass output. Ridiculous sound quality for the money

Cons: Only one so far is I noticed a buzz in one speaker during a particular bass frequency. Removed grill and gone. This was at a decent volume level.
I haven't been able to get the plugs out of the binding posts for bananas yet- they're IN there.

Other Thoughts: For the price these are a steal. One reviewer mentioned veiled mids- I'm not hearing it on my system, but everyone's equipment and rooms are different. I've had many speakers over the years, some costing thousands and no, these don't better them. They are, however, pleasant sounding, fun to listen to and a super value. HIGHLY recommended

5 out of 5 eggsGreat bargain!

Pros: Great sense of timing, detail retrieval, and sound staging. Incredible bargain at current discounted prices.

Cons: Slightly tipped top end easily mitigated by better electronics. Not really sure if there sonic character will appeal to all.

Other Thoughts: Having owned a number of different speakers such as Infinity, Pioneer, Energy, Definitive technology, Martin logan motions, jbls, revels, and a bunch of 'others', I find these Triangles enticing to listen to. From 100hz and up, they sound absolutely ravishing. I was also surprised by their excellent sense of timing, much like my beloved Celestion sl600s and 700s. However mate these speakers with average electronics and with their slight tipped tonal balance, listening fatigue sets in quickly. Hooked them up with the nice HK990 integrated, they provide a slice of sonic heaven. Tube front ends will work very well because of their efficiency. As a somewhat jaded audiophile, I find myself looking forward to listening to them each day. Thank you for reading this 'review.'

5 out of 5 eggsThat's how Triangle's are supposed to sound..

Pros: Superb build quality and sound, with the right amplifier of coarse..

Cons: Doesn't like solid state amplifiers.. Unless you spend a fortune on them..

Other Thoughts: I was almost tempted to send these back because I did not like what I was hearing.. I could get used to the slightly boxy midrange but couldn't deal with the super brightness of the tweeters. I tried two different descent quality solid state amps to no avail.. Both amps, a D*yton from *arts Express and a N*D sounded good but way too bright for my liking. I almost gave up until I hooked up my little D*yton 50watt digital amp as one last chance. My mouth dropped to the floor.. The difference was like night and day.. Now, I've known of Triangle speakers for quite some time as well as their caliber amongst audiophiles. This is truly how they are supposed to sound. Beautiful from top to bottom. No more shrilly treble, butter smooth midrange and tight bass. They image like crazy! Open and airy without ridiculous brightness. Female vocals are eerily realistic. Classical music is presented to you as if you were in the concert hall as the performance took place. I just can't get over how good they sound. Amazing what an amplifier will do. Unless you can afford to spend thousands on 300 lb. mono block solid state amps for each speaker, my advice would be to get an inexpensive digital amp and let these babies sing.

3 out of 5 eggsNot so great for the price...

Pros: Small size and front port allows closer placement to walls.
Ok bass for a single woofer.

Cons: "Veiled" sounding mids.
"Harsh" sounding highs.
"Boxy" sound.

Other Thoughts: I don't know why there aren't any reviews for these speakers since the refurbished units are all sold out as I write this review.
First off, I have owned and listened to a LOT of speakers under $1K, such as Polk, Klipsch, Pinnacle, Cerwin Vega, Monitor Audio RX's, Infinity, the new JBL Studio 530, etc..

After letting these play for several hours, I sat down and listened to some 2 channel music through them without the aid of a subwoofer.
Since they are a true 3-way design, I was expecting really good mids from Triangle's paper-cone midrange unit.
Right off the bat, I could tell these speakers did not sound as good as I thought they would.

The bass isn't bad for a single 6.5" woofer, but the mids sound somewhat veiled and unclear...sorta like there is a large blanket placed over the front of the speaker.

The titanium tweeter is probably the best driver of the 3, but even it sounds like it's running a couple of dB's "hotter" than the midrange...making the speaker sound just too "bright" for my tastes.

If all this wasn't bad enough, the speaker has what I would describe as a "boxy" sound.
This is probably due to the thin MDF used to construct the cabinet or not enough cabinet damping material.

Overall, my first experience with a Triangle product and probably my last.
