5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Not too bright.

If you like low light environments, for relaxing or just to have in the background for watching TV / computer use, then this fits the bill perfectly. Otherwise, a single bulb for the whole room wouldn't be enough.

Two going strong still at 6 months so far.

Cons: Don't get the "warm" feeling from a more yellow coloured light.

Other Thoughts: Some would say the colour is bluish, but it seems completely white to me. Others have mentioned to me that it resembles daylight when they notice it being on.

5 out of 5 eggsEnergy!

Pros: Great product. Less brilliant than the standard bulbs a person would buy at the local hardware store but I wanted something that would save energy and not get too hot. Very well made product.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It takes a while to get used to the light.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Great values, got 3 about 4 months ago for around $7/ea. They're really bright and clear, I wish I could find a 75w equivalent on discount. Recommend.

Cons: Not on special price very often

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Little heat, long life. Very bright!

Cons: Does not work with my wall dimmer as advertised. Must be a polarity thing.

Other Thoughts: Would recommend. It is a very cold color temp. Might take a while for you to get use to the white/blue color. Not a warm yellow as given off by incandesent. Has very much a spotlight pattern. Not much light given off the sides. Works well if you want light projected forward.

4 out of 5 eggswhiteness

Pros: LED, tougher than standard bulb. Standard base.
LED, low-low power draw.
1/2 price with free shipping.

Cons: Nope

Other Thoughts: Watch out when ordering light bulbs nowadays for the base type and wattage. Notice that a 5-watt LED is brighter than a 40-watt old-style incandescent.
Replace your old bulbs with LED's to save.

4 out of 5 eggsWorth It For The Shell Shocker Price

Pros: Light is powerful, price was right for a Shell Shocker special, energy savings of only using 5W.

Cons: It is not natural light. It's like being under florescent lights. Heat sink around base of bulb gets pretty hot, but is probably still cooler than a CFC or incandescent bulb.

Other Thoughts: I would buy again at Shell Shocker price (about 50% off of current price as of this review).

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: * Seems brighter than the 40W it replaced.
* Price (<10)

Cons: * Not Energy Star.
* Too fluorescent looking.

Other Thoughts: Would be good for garage, storage, etc. I didn't like it in the bathroom or living spaces. Like another reviewer said, it would also make a good reading light.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's Blue, Not White

Pros: Provides LED energy benefits; acceptable lumen output

Cons: The temp rating on the bulb box is 5306K. 4500 to 4800K would be "Bright White"; sorry but this aint it. The Details tab is wrong. Even worse, you will not find out the exact K color temperature rating until you actually get the product because the "Details" tab is lying to you, again. It's not 5000, it' s 5306K. The light is reminiscent of the cheap led flashlights you can buy that have the characteristic blue look.

Other Thoughts: If you are buying these for a set of neutral bright white lights to equip your wife's makeup room in order to give her the best color neutral bright white light available for the optimum makeup results, dont do it because you will end up getting divorced.

5 out of 5 eggsit's hella brite

Pros: 5w saves power! light is nice and bright at night and evenly lights up my room with a nice bright white. I can see fine with it on and i think for $10 it's worth it!

Cons: do not look at the light when it's on, you will burn your retina temporarily! yea it's that bright!

Other Thoughts: a few people i know did not like the light and even one person said it gave them headaches, strange. They said it was reminiscent of a car LED headlight that blinds them at night. I honestly don't see that, i like it and does what i need at a cheap price and low wattage!
