5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Hard to give this a review just yet because I don't know about reliability. However it is replacing a heavily used CFL bulb with an equal amount of light and it will pay for itself in electric savings in one year if it lasts that long. I also like the light color better than the CFL. If it were replacing a 30 0r 40w incandescent bulb it would pay for itself in savings pretty quickly. It has a 3 year warranty so I guess it is a no brainer. Think I may order some more.

Cons: No cons so far

5 out of 5 eggsGood color and brightness

Pros: I wasn't expecting good color representation for a $7.99 bulb, so I was surprised at how warm the colors are. Not quite as good as an equivalent incandescent, but pretty close. The 30W equivalency is also pretty accurate. I've got 3 other types of LEDs on this one hallway circuit of recessed ceiling lights, and these are both the best color rendition and the cheapest.

Cons: Shipping should be included in the price, or at least don't charge for each bulb when they all come in one small box!

I would be nice if these were dimmable.

Other Thoughts: I have a whole collection of LED lights I've tried, so the comments are based on a reasonable sample of cheaper LEDs.

4 out of 5 eggsWay brighter than a 25 watt

Pros: This bulb is very bright. I bought it to replace a 25W incandescent and it is almost too bright. I'd say it's closer to a 40W.

Cons: Definitely not dimmable, flickers like mad. Light is a bit on the cool side when compared to an incandescent bulb. Light is a bit directional due to the design, not much light is directed toward the base. Works OK in a table lamp though since the shade reflects some of the light downward.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great bulb. Would buy more in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsLED Bulbs

Pros: Very nice alternative to the CFL bulbs we have been using.
These were in the 3000K range, and the light quality was very nice.
The design also has an attractive aluminum trim (for heat dissipation I would guess)
No flickering, instant-on, and no aversion to colder temps (all downsides to CFL bulbs)
And they use half the power, and no hazardous materials to dispose of!

Cons: The light from LED's (at least this frequency) seems to dissipate more than traditional incandescent or CFL bulbs. Maybe the higher frequency bulbs have less of an issue.
The only potential problems I have seen would be installing them in a high location, then the dissipating light could be an issue.

Other Thoughts: I should have bought a few more of these. I will be watching for the 5000K bulbs, now I want to try a few of them!

3 out of 5 eggsSeems OK

Pros: It lights up.

Cons: Saw them cheaper at a local warehouse club after I bought them. As with all these high priced led and florescent lights, you never know if you can get your moneys worth out of them. Florescent are a flop we will see with LED...

Other Thoughts: Your lights arent going to save the earth or your wallet. Start with your HVAC and appliances if you want to lower your monthly bill.

5 out of 5 eggsResponsible Long-term Savings

Pros: The bulbs were on sale or I would not have purchased them, but now that I have some, I will only buy these if I can help it (see CONs).

Okay, so you screw in a light bulb and voila! - light. Yippee. Well, for the equivalent of X watts (incandescent), you can plan on using X/5 watts with these bulbs. I got 30- and 60-watt bulbs for the overhead lights above my basement work bench. The center bulb is a scant 6 inches from my forehead. Most lights would shortly begin to warm to an uncomfortable level, but not these. And the light they provide seems to be about what is advertised.

The regular price seems a bit high, but given their projected life-span, they are cheap, cheap, CHEAP. Regular incandescent bulbs anticipate about a year of service if used 3 hours a day (0.9 years as advertised by a couple of highly-regarded name brands). Halogen equivalents use not quite 1/3 less power and will last twice as long, with a small hit in the lumens department. These bulbs are expecte

Cons: The light is projected in semi-directional fashion, "forward" from the base, somewhat like a flashlight. Depending on where you want the light, you will have to position the bulb for best effect. Most standing lamps will direct the light upward to the ceiling; these will work best if ceiling-mounted, or directed into a room.

(this is NOT a con) - They SEEM pricey up front: see PROs.

Other Thoughts: The price of these lights are expected to drop, but even if they don't, BUY THESE. Even if they are not on sale, BUY THEM.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Color and Good Quality

Pros: Easy installation just like the 7W light bulb I bought 2 weeks ago. Even though I am a female, it is still easy for me to install it in 30 seconds. The quality looks good for now and I have to test it for a while before I purchase more of them.

Cons: Not for now.

5 out of 5 eggsLow power, very bright

Pros: These bulbs have a nice and soft brightness that's not too intense. 40,000 hr expectancy means that I won't be replacing them for a long time.
