5 out of 5 eggsNice bulb

Pros: Good quality, quiet, full brightness at startup, nice color of light output.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have purchased several similar style bulbs and this has the best light output and color for the watts used. I have three different power meters, and all show this bulb drawing a bit less than the rated wattage. I have not had it long enough to comment on life, but doubt that any of these bulbs will last as long as stated.

4 out of 5 eggsGood but htere is better

Pros: This bulb puts off a pleasant warm light. It puts off enough light for a reading lamp. I like the fact that there is no warm upperiod, like CFLs, to get it at its maximum brightness.

Cons: I was suprised at how heavy they bulb is. I checked others at a doit yourself store and all the LED bulbs are heavy. So, this is normal, but something to be aware of.
The color temp appears to be more like a 2700K than the 3065K that the specs state.

Other Thoughts: I was expecting the light to be more towards the Bright White spectrum. The specs state that the color temp is 3065K but it appears to me to be 2700K. I wanted to use this in my dining room but the light was too warm and appeared to have an almost greenish hue. I ended buying an equivalent bulb with near same specs for the same price at a doit yourself store. Theirs is much brighter and is more of a Bright White which is perfect for my dining room.
I deducted one egg because I feel there are other LED bulbs for the same price that do a better job.

4 out of 5 eggsGood quality bulb

Pros: Purchased on sale! The bulb seems built and packaged really well. A specification sheet is available from the manufacturers website. The light it gives off is a true warm light the box says 3065K. It seems as though the first time you screw it in the bulb takes half a second to turn on. All other on and off cycles the bulb is instantly on and no warm up. The delay is probably due to some memory function or capacitors charging up. I plugged it in to my Kill-A-Watt meter and it indeed uses just 6.5watts of energy with no change from cold to hot I ran it about 30 minutes.

Cons: The bulb is heavy. LED HOME lighting is fairly new technology. It reminds me of when I was younger and the first CFL bulbs, some had separate separate ballasts. Some were long and wide and very heavy. This LED light being more than half of it is an aluminum heat sink (great quality) but still heavier than your average incandescent, halogen, or modern day mini CFL. The bulb does get hot, especially for a LED. Considering my LED flashlights are always cool to the touch. That is because it is taking 120volts and making it a lot less, not sure of the technical voltage the LED consumes.

Other Thoughts: Don't go LED crazy. Again LED home lighting is still new technology. CFL's have come such a long way I would stick with those. For example a modern Mini CFL uses about 11 watts for a 40watt equivalent. This particular LED uses 6.5 watts. Talking strictly about energy use, it would take a while for the LED bulb to pay for it self, considering you can find many mini CFL lights for $1 or $2. I paid $0.99 for many of my CFL lights from a local hardware store. Now If you are making the move from incadescent to CFL that is a great jump in energy savings. Just becareful where you put the LED lights as they are less versatile it seems than CFL. For example I would be weary of putting this particular bulb in my ceiling fan for fear of throwing off the balance. Perhaps if I had 3 bulbs to put in it would be fine, but that's a lot of weight for lightweight energy efficent ceiling fans. Best used for table lamps I think.

5 out of 5 eggsSome fine bulbs

Pros: The color of the light is excellent. I have used so many CFLs that claim to be "warm" but the light they give off is always really sterile and unpleasant. The light this bulb gives off could easily be mistaken for an incandescent.

Cons: It does take about half a second for the light to turn on. There's no flickering or anything, but it does take a little getting used to.

Other Thoughts: I am very happy I got this light and I look forward to my lower electricity bill.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good product

Pros: The 7W LED light bulb that I received 3 days ago works really well now. Easy installation and it is not heating up at all which is really suitable for long-time usage.

Cons: Haven't realized the energy saving pros since I just got this bulb for trial. Might buy more if this bulb works well this time.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect color

Pros: I don't understand the review that seems to commenting on LED Christmas lights. I purchased 3 of these and absolutely love them. I use them in a dining room chandelier and they look great and the color is perfect, not to yellow and not to bleached white, perfect .

Cons: none

3 out of 5 eggsSufficient light BUT

Pros: For the low input ... quantity and color of the light is fine ~ 40 watts eq.

Cons: I put the bulb "inverted" in a fixture. After some weeks of daily on and off usage, I found the 'head' of the unit dangling from the body. I 'super glued' it and it's working fine.

Other Thoughts: Fine for selected applications. I wouldn't worry about the separation issue for most apps. It could have been a manuf. opps. I like the style and light color .. would buy more if they have higher lumen outputs.

1 out of 5 eggsLEDs suck

Pros: None

Cons: LEDs are efficient, their power inverters aren't. They're great on my lawn tractors and vehicles at 12 volts, but I've had a couple in our house smoke. Look at the base of CFL and LED bulbs; see the discolored plastic? And I've yet to find a "40 watt equivalent LED" that threw as much light as the 15 watt flame-shaped bulbs I've wound up using as night lights. LEDs in series, especially the rope lights, are okay on energy usage, but they only last a year because one dies and takes out the rest.

Other Thoughts: I've used a computer power supply to run multiple LEDs, removing their inverters, and the measured energy use is much less than the total use of the original bulbs.
