Pros: Easy to read, large bright display. I had a previous clock die on me (a different Timex model) that had dual alarms and the ability to set the alarms for 2-5-7 day which is a feature that was important to me. This clock was in the running for me just for that feature alone.
I do like the redi set feature because it did correctly set the date and time right out of the box.
It has a battery backup and for those of you wondering, it does have a backup alarm as well, at least according to the manual. However the backup alarm is not the same as the alarms on the clock. It is a special alarm just for backup purposes and I have yet to test this so I cannot say if it is loud enough, etc. But it is better than some other clocks that do not have any kind of alarm backup so there you go.
There are dual alarms. One is basically a single beep and the other is a dual beep. Both also allow radio wake-up as an option. The buzzers both have a crescendo, increasing the volume to gradually wak
Cons: It could be more intuitive to set the alarms. You have to scroll through the entire day basically to get to the time you want. Not a dealbreaker but I have had clocks that were easier to set quickly.
To shut off the alarm you have to either twist the alarm to the off position or push a small button on top which has little to no tactile feedback, thus you are more likely to turn on the radio when attempting to do this. However, another option is to hit snooze just to get the alarm to stop and then once you have your bearings you can twist the alarm to the off position. This is my plan at least unless I have success training my half asleep self to successfully hit the small target button every morning.
It does have a huge bright display. I wish there was a dimmer option for this. My previous clock did have that option and it was a godsend. This will take some getting used to for me but it may or may not bother others.
Other Thoughts: Overall I am satisfied that this has everything I need to get the job done and wake me up from a deep sleep.
Some may be concerned with the "redi set" feature but you should know that you can completely override this. For example if you like to set your clock 5 minutes ahead, you can do so and even if you should lose power, it will save this in memory with the battery backup and your little extra time cushion will remain.
