3 out of 5 eggsSo-So

Pros: They work

Cons: sound only slightly better than the TV speaker's on my 50" HiSense

Other Thoughts: coax input doesn't work, line in volume is very low from TV, best is aux, my cable remote progrmmed to it but it only shut's off or mute's, volume doesnt work, so a pain having multiple remotes

3 out of 5 eggsDecent for the money

Pros: Very affordable, easy to mount, professional look. It augments basic TV speakers well in a bedroom setting but shouldn't be used beyond that. This is certainly not powerful enough for a living room.

Cons: Badly needs a built-in EQ, Not really a fan of the 4 pre-programmed sound profiles. Audio spectrum just doesn't seem to sound "full" through them, can't quite put my finger on it exactly.

Other Thoughts: It's a shame there is not a programmable EQ. The speakers themselves seem very capable but only 4 sound profile choices really limit the ability to customize sound to your specific room/liking.

I'm keeping it for now, but I wish I would have researched things a bit more and probably forked over some more cash instead of rushing into buying something cheap for my new TV.

3 out of 5 eggsSolid but lacking in power

Pros: Good range and sound quality, small profile, wall mountable, sleek, remote control

Cons: Limited power

Other Thoughts: An extra 30-50 watts wouldn't hurt

4 out of 5 eggsEZ to use and likable

Pros: It has the old digital cable in. I wanted S/PDIF to it from the TV.

Not all have it. I did not want to waste a HDMI cable as some other sound bars needed.

I figure the $70. I popped for it was good

My hearing is poor. It adds a great range of sound above the TV speakers, and more bass than you would figure on and I guess it is an old Nautilus shape in there or whatevs that gives it bass

Cons: I want one more for $40. Ha ha. I have that feeling one day after the Iron Egg is run the price drops.

Retail was like $149.99 . Who knows . I had Sceptre before with mixed success and hope this goes on the plus side for the brand,

The BASS has +4 levels and the first pop on the bass button ups the level but on a merry-go-round basis so if you were +3 you go to + 0. If you were + 2 you go to max or + 3.

The other controls are DOUBLE BOP....that is preferred; but the bass acts to up immediately except bass max goes to bass zero...Hard learning curve there, Bud?

No nothing is wrong. It is like that.

Other Thoughts: Looks, a real question mark for all. From one taste to the next you get all sorts of reactions. IT IS PIANO GLOSS BLACK. In a low light room you sort of do not see it but I got glass shelves. A mere single pinpoint LED reminds you if it is OFF. Is that backwards for you? So it is on and there is no nothing to distract the eye during a screening or ball game. What do they know I don't know?

2 out of 5 eggsIt works, but with caveats

Pros: Everything on it works. I got mine for $75.00, not $199.99!!

Cons: I ordered this sound bar to augment the poor speakers that our Sony XBR came with. This is an older TV(CRT) that sat unused for years in our library. Great TV's, lousy internal speakers. I have to run the Sceptre at full volume to have any effect, and it really doesn't help my wife to understand people on the TV's voices.

I have also noticed that the remote control effects certain functions on the Sony. One of the sound controls on the Sceptre also turns up the color intensity on the Sony. One or two other Sceptre remote functions also reek havoc with the Sony menu. One function, I forget which one, causes the Sony to Auto-detect all the channels that it can see...this is a REAL pain. It, the Sceptre, may not do this with a different brand of TV, but there are conflicts with the older Sonys.

Other Thoughts: I bought the Sceptre because at $75.00 it seemed like a good deal, and it may be for a smaller TV that one would sit closer to, but it does not "fill-the-bill" for an older 36" Sony because it is not loud enough, and it has remote control conflict issues. I can not make any knowledgeable recommendations except that if you have a Sony you may want to consider a different Sound Bar.

4 out of 5 eggsSceptre sound bar

Pros: Easy to connect; great value for the price; Improves the sound quality 100% from standard speakers on the 32" flat panel.

Cons: Would like grill cover over speakers for prying little fingers.
