3 out of 5 eggsBuyer Beware

Pros: Device works well, overall. Has a decent preamp in it to boost the signal for most car stereos to have the correct input level.

Cons: The unit I got has a defective bluetooth audio unit, I can hear everything from my phone, but can't take a call - so, apparently there's a manufacturing quality issue.

When power goes off an you leave your iPod in the car, say goodbye to your battery.

Also, can do some weird things to your iPod when in shuffle mode. I have an iPod Classic 6th generation and if I'm listening to shuffle on just the ipod then plug into the unit, it's no longer in shuffle... it is alphabetical by song title and it loses its place in shuffle. Annoying...

Works well overall, just not perfect. Definitely not cool if you're a shuffler.

Other Thoughts: You may need to use a Ground Loop Isolator. I have a Subaru, which are notorious for ground loop issues, and had to use one for my audio to my head unit.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: None

Cons: Very hard to install without wires everywhere. There are many better options in the market which work better with no wasted effort on installation. I had this professionally installed into the vehicle and synced up to the phone. It never worked properly. I have since taken out of the car.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsurd Quality

Pros: It powers on

It makes sound

Paid $19.99 for BF sale

Cons: Not able to charge 3GS

No control from the phone after connected via cable

Too much noise (interference) via bluetooth connection

Weak transmission of signal (The antenna and the monitor should be close)

Other Thoughts: Everybody says that their cannot be a better price than $19.99 for this, but I feel it is not even worth $20

With connected thru a cable, there is no ipod control from the phone. You have to browse all from the remote control in the tiny monitor. It is an absurd design

If you go though wireless connection, the signal goes with two processes. First, the signal from the phone goes into the device via bluetooth. Then it is transmitted to the car stereo by FM method. Always, yes always, I hear noise, interruption, or interference. Absurd quality

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great, But Doesn't Charge iPhone

Pros: Great that you can BT connect mutliple devices to it. Easy to install and hide wires with a little bit of effort. Works great with the iphone and streaming rapsody and other music besides built in ipod functions.

Cons: Was hoping the quick connect cable would charge my iphone, but it doesn't. Just says incompatible device and won't charge. Cables are a little thick so a little bit of effort required to hide/run them.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to screw in all connections tightly. On first install I apparently didn't screw in one of the power ends all the way and the device wouldn't power up. Took a few minutes to figure out what was wrong and connect it properly. After that no other issues.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good

Pros: The reviews weren't great, but for the black friday special, u could hardly go wrong. I installed it and it works great, bluetooth works good and less background noise than on a regular phone. I hid a lot of the wires and the install looks pretty good after I was done. I'm glad I bought 2 at the BF price! Don't hesitate to buy this unit. Also, the iPod remote control works nice. There is like a half second delay in showing up songs, but it plays my music just fine and best of all I have a bigger screen than my iPod when driving so I feel a little safer.

Cons: Not quite as loud as some other bluetooth units I have seen, but still definitely worth the price. You have to have some experience wiring cables or have someone help you wire this so the wires are nice and out of the way.

Other Thoughts: Unless you have installed your own car stereo and know how to actually run wires in a hidden manner, this is probably not the unit for you. Buy a Motorola t505 which is wireless, u will be happier. To have iPod controls and bluetooth capability in your vehicle, this thing works great.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Cheap way to get Bluetooth and iPod to your car. Super easy installation. Outgoing phone audio sounds good, thanks to that big and ugly microphone people are whining about. Plenty of cable for a long run up to the headliner.

Cons: Remote feels cheap, and the scrolling thing on the side is hard to use. No way to quickly accept a call without digging out your phone or trying to find the remote. I haven't figured out how to use the phonebook yet, I just make the call from my phone.

Other Thoughts: Definitely an improvement over AM/FM/CD if you're on a budget. I don't understand what everybody's problem with this thing is. If you want the best quality, you're going to have to spend more than $25. And, yes, I've used Ford/Microsoft SYNC so I know what a premium Bluetooth/iPod system can be.

1 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointing

Pros: Nice concept, beautiful screen

Cons: Cables everywhere! Finicky setup with certain ipod models.

Other Thoughts: Overall, this was a great idea that was executed very poorly. I expected there to be lots of cables, but I thought they would be easy enough to hide. Wrong! The main cable from the "brain" to the monitor is huge and I think it would be pretty much impossible to tuck it away without cutting your dash or trim. The bluetooth connectivity was very spotty and this was a main feature that I wanted so I could go hands-free in the car. When I connected via my aux port for audio, I was surprised at how much hiss was present. With a standard aux cable to my ipod, it is virtually silent. I couldn't get my ipod classic to play. It showed up on the ipod screen and the Alpine screen, but it wouldn't play. I returned this and picked up a Motorola T505. It's not as flashy, but the hands free capability is flawless and I can stream my iphone through my car speakers with no problems at all - either with music that is stored on it or streaming Pandora radio - even in the busy Dallas FM signal.

1 out of 5 eggsBulky and useless

Pros: The Alpine name, that's it.

Cons: What bluetooth??? Like most of the folks here, the wires, wires, wires! Poor sound quality through the radio, lot of statics, and loss connections. This unit does not work with all the bluetooth cell phones. Also, the mic does not work, people can't hear me talking.

Other Thoughts: Disappointed that this poorly designed product from Alpine. Alpine is lengendary for its car stereos, but it looks like it will be gone by 2010.

1 out of 5 eggsCould not get remote to work

Pros: Cheap... got it during black friday sale...

Cons: Lots of wires, could not get the remote to work ended returning it for replacement. If the new one does not work either then will write off the money spent and throw it away.

Other Thoughts: Waiting for a the replacement will write about it
