Pros: I download all sorts of video & mp3 via torrents. Plays them ALL! Recommend storage on drives be organized by folder tree. Handles my Samsung 1tb drives fine.
Cons: USB speeds drive me crazy and am getting rid of this after two months for a hard drive dock that has same functions as this that I will just leave plugged in via hdmi into tv. I download over 10gb of video a week and with a drive dock player I can swap drive out to esata dock on computer to load video then return drive to tv to watch content.
Other Thoughts: I have been very happy with this device's video performance but usb download speeds are just too slow these days. Once a week I would actually remove hard drive from this device to place in esata dock on computer to bring content over.

Pros: - Easy to set up and use - Rather inexpensive - Very portable - Good size - HDMI & Component capabilities
Cons: - Doesn't support MP4 or MOV formats - No button interface on actual unit (which means, if you lose your remote or break it, you are out of luck) - Cannot watch the media player IF your your USB cable is plugged in to the computer. You have to unplug the cable from either the media player unit or from your computer THEN you can turn on the media player on your television - No wireless capabilities
Other Thoughts: A lot of people are hating on the remote design since its one of those thin fragile remotes, however, it is made that way so that it can SNAP easily to the bottom of the unit for portability. So I for one, love the remote. However, as I've written above. There are no basic function buttons on the unit itself. Which means, if you lose the remote, you cannot control your media player; it now just becomes a more expensive external hard drive.

What an Upgrade

Pros: Fast and Easy to work with. The directions where a bit simplistic but this is easy to take apart and put in a 1TB drive. I am impressed with this unit. Comes with all the cables you need except HDMI. (Pictured)
Cons: Power adapter is a big wall wart (Not like the one in the picture) but I guess that is par for the course and not a huge con.
Other Thoughts: I upgraded from an old 2.5HDD media player that used IDE drives and I am very happy with this model. I have used it on my HDTV, My Standard TV, as well as my Projector with no issues.
I would suggest getting a nice padded camera bag with this to hold the unit and cables for travel. Came in handy when I went on vacation.
Something to consider for future models would be the ability to use portable drives with this. IE using a second portable drive that could be pluged in by USB for more storage/copy/playback options.
