The Alesis M1 Active 320 USB speakers enable you to play audio from your computer, and record audio coming into the speaker to your computer. Simply plug in the USB cable to your computer; no special drivers are required.

Superior sound quality Each of the speakers houses a 3" woofer and a 1" silk dome tweeter to provide a wide frequency response. A bass boost switch helps emphasize bass frequencies. It also delivers audio at higher-than-CD-quality of 16-bit/48kHz for crystal-clear sound.
A great solution for your computer-based audio The M1 Active 320 USB speakers offer the ease-of-use of USB connectivity. Simply plug the speakers into the USB port on your PC, and you're ready to go with no extra drivers to install. It also can work with iPad via Apple USB adaptor (sold separately).
A convenient audio interface The M1Active speakers also act as a convenient audio interface. They have pro-grade 1/4" plugs, standard RCA jacks, stereo 1/8” TRS mini-jack input, and stereo RCA inputs. You can easily connect keyboards, DJ mixers, standard CDs, or other audio devices to the speakers. Play the audio through the speakers, or direct it to the computer and record it.
Shielded design The M1Active cabinets are magnetically shielded for safe use near TVs and computer monitors. A switchable power supply allows you to use this speaker system internationally.

Sound great, work with USB connected to PC straight out the box with no driver installation needed. My daughter loves that her and her friends can connect their mp3 players to it. They could not blow them up and had some great parties using them. Cons: The cable connecting the L/R speakers could be longer. Other Thoughts: I like these so much that I am going to buy three more sets and use them as 7.1 speakers for the PC i just built. The two original speakers will be connected as one center speaker.
