4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: Price! I had it for just over a week, seems to work well.
I haven't used the U.S.B. or M.M.C. ports. R.C.A. plugs straight into PC works well.

Cons: No advanced features. but for the price its good.

1 out of 5 eggsMUTANT NINJA

Pros: Nicely packaged.

Cons: Horrible distortion. Needle is overweighted & cannot be adjusted.

Look elsewhere, don't buy.

Very disappointing, does not pay to return item, since I would pay shipping.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should have a quality control department that should check items they sell on their web site & make sure they do not sell junk to consumers.

3 out of 5 eggsMutant LP Capturer

Pros: the mp3 tracks sound good after being recorded from this device. the records play nicely and overall sounds great.
the stylus(aka needle cartridge) is replaceable.

preamp, brings sound quality up, and makes amplifiers output louder.

signal to noise ratio claims more then 50db

manual claims belt drive, Newegg sales page claimed direct drive. i haven't taken it apart. but from use i assume it IS actually direct drive.

appears to be non digital power switch (i like analog power switches) but appearances are not always true.

claims only 5 watts power use from wall outlet. (extremely nice)

Cons: there is no automated breaking of tracks, you must manually start and stop each mp3 recording per track. or do so later if desired on a PC. otherwise the entire side of the album will be 1 mp3 track.

the base of the machine seems warped, feet on 2 opposing ends touch and the other 2 opposing ends wobble up and down. i had to put a wedge under the back right rubber foot to attempt balancing the unit.

the turning platform itself seems to have a uneven rotation.

the lift arm is the type that doesn't stay where you put it, you have to use it carefully. (aka no resistance for the falling arm)

box was opened and re-taped.

(the manual) is fair wording, but certainly seems foreign written. page 7 #4 says to press FUN when it should say FUNC, there's a few errors in here for sure, i didn't hunt for them.

it also actually says to unplug device when not in use, i did notice an audible hum sound from i assume the transformer, when powered off.
says device may receive interferen

Other Thoughts: considering RMA'ing this unit to see if its just a single bad one.

i would have done the menu system and buttons differently. but it works once you learn it.

i may do a video review later on. if i don't RMA it. for now, giving it a chance with a few records.

my criticism is extreme, I'm an engineer. sorry Mutant & Newegg.
