4 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: It does work, I use it to and from work everyday. It has gone off when officers where running radar.

Cons: There are a TON of false alarms!!!!I have learned where the false alarms are on my route, but when I am taking a new one, It kinda sucks.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Overall Radar Detector

Pros: Excellent Ka-band sensitivity
Good laser sensitivity
Fast reaction times to instant-on and quick trigger
Easy to read display
Can turn on/off individual bands, POP, SWS
Good filtering algorithms
Very accurate signal meter

Cons: K-band sensitivity could be better
No auto dim mode
X-band falses sometimes show up as a K-band signal if X-band is OFF.

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a good radar detector. Ka-Max mode performs very well, and has quick response (almost Valentine V1-like reaction time) to instant on and quick trigger. The fast response makes it easy to determine whether the signal being used is constant on or instant on/quick trigger.

Filtering does a good job of weeding out false alarms without making the detector deaf. This detector also identifies the frequency being used on Ka-band and the PPS rate of laser helping one to determine whether the threat on these two bands are real or not.

Unlike many other radar detectors, this unit has a signal meter that is very accurate and reacts well to obstructions in real time with no delay on ramp up, full strength and ramp-down signals.

K-band could be a bit more sensitive but it does the job - also turning off X-band sometimes will cause an X-band false to show up as K-band. I leave X on as there are so few X-falses anyway.

Overall, a very well thought out radar detector
