4 out of 5 eggsWhistler 145 Detector

Pros: -Catches all the things my friend's $200 detector sees
-Great price
-LED's flash when it detects a signal. nice if the radio is blasting or windows are down. (also see cons)
-window mount works well, but lets the device sag somewhat. I'm going to make a little padding piece to prop the device up.
-power cable is an appropriate length

Cons: LED's are bright as hell, really make your interior light up at night. That's bad if you don't want cops knowing you have a detector. On the other hand they might save you from a ticket if you're distracted.

Other Thoughts: This things blows up when I get <300 yds from an EZ-Pass station lol. You learn pretty quickly which spots on your drive are storefront detections, but I'm glad it picks them up. Too much info is better than not enough.

Overall I'm glad I bought it. Would recommend to a friend.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a great value!!

Pros: It works great the flashing Leds will alert you if the sound doesn't! I play the radio loud.

Cons: not for this price, a tank of gas!

Other Thoughts: Radar detector are good for a lot of things like they will alert you if a train is near when you are coming to a crossing. They pickup on firetrucks, ambulances and other emergencies.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: Made me slow down. Went off when it was supposed to. I got it on Shell-Shocker sale so it was pretty cheap. I didn't get any tickets the only time I've used it (>8 hours of interstate driving, each way).

Cons: Don't have any legitimate cons. Maybe wish it had the features of the more expensive one in the manual.

4 out of 5 eggsXTR-145

Pros: Cheap. Works in 85% cases (which is not bad for such price). Already saved me few times...

Cons: Doesn't keep previous mode. You have to change it manually every time you starting engine. That is why 4 eggs...

4 out of 5 eggsworks like it should....most of the time

Pros: I've owned this unit for awhile now and I must say it isn't a bad little detector. it has great range for ka band and sometimes laser. this unit has saved me more times than i can count except when i got hit by laser...but that was my fault bc i forgot to plug the unit in.

Cons: it's not a valentine one but the price isn't either, however it works great. low level of laser detection makes this unit get an egg off.
