3 out of 5 eggsUntested

Pros: It appears to work. The charging indicator will lightup when plugged in or in direct sunlight. I guess it's probably worth a try at or under $20, it was for me at least.

Cons: At $70 this thing would be a joke. It's big, like cumbersome big, and it feels cheap. I don't feel comfortable just throwing it in a bag and lugging around. Maybe that's my hangup.

Other Thoughts: I bought it specifically to bring camping, but haven't had a chance to test it in that capacity, might never. Like I said above, I get nervous just throwing it in a bag. I feel like it's going to snap apart just opening and closing it sometimes.

1 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: I got it for free with a router.

Cons: This thing doesn't seem to charge, I've been leaving it on the windowsill all day, and the charging indicator never lights, and when I check the charge status, it's never changed.

Other Thoughts: I would have removed this from my cart if it had let me, I don't really have a use for the item. If it at least seemed to charge up in sunlight, maybe it would come in handy at some point.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It charges my Droid and I got it for free!

Cons: Slow to charge in the sun but what do you expect out of a panel so small.

Other Thoughts: You only see the "charging" on my droid when the battery is about 90% or below. It keeps my phone topped off while I'm at work.

2 out of 5 eggsDid not work

Pros: Worked with my Blackberry. Good idea for a product.

Cons: When I first received the product, I put it out in the sun all day to charge, which it did up to 75% of capacity. I charged the remaining 25% with a USB cord because the instructions said to charge it all the way the first time you use it.

From that point on, the sun would not charge the device's battery at all. I left it in the sun for a week while I was out of town and the charge had not increased at all.

The battery still holds its charge and can be recharged via a USB cord, but if it won't charge in the sun, what's the point?

1 out of 5 eggsThey have false pictures...

Pros: I guess it's a solar panel and it will charge, it's also nice for being a take around charger, as you can pre-charge it first through your computer and take it around with you, regardless if the sun is out or not. It's great for camping, I would guess so anyway.

Cons: It's...Not quite what I expected. In the pictures, the model shown is very different than the one given, I had thought I was getting a solar charger with two panels, but it's one panel and a lamp...Odd. If you look at the first picture of the charger in the box, it's a clear black. Which it is when you receive it. However, the next pictures are of a different model charger, as it has white streaks and lines running through it, as with two solar panels.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if this company is very...honest. If they had to put misleading pictures up, then I wonder...

4 out of 5 eggsGood after buying other adapters

Pros: Seems to charge ok from solar, charged up quickly by usb. Nice bright blue charge indicator LEDs.

Cons: Thought I needed a mini usb to usb female cord to make this work with standard usb cables. Tried it with that and a jabra headset, and iphone, but it doesn't seem to charge them.

Other Thoughts: I purchased another product with similar adapters (round plug to iphone, round plug to mini usb) and those adapters work with this unit. With an adapter like that, this unit will charge an iPhone, but not an iPad. So it seems to support the low current profile and works well that way. I upgraded my rating to a 4 although you need to buy adapters somewhere else to use it with some products.

Other Thoughts: So far, I haven't found a device I can charge with it. Seems like a cool idea though.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for Droid X

Pros: The solar panels appear to charge the battery

Cons: It would not work with my Droid X or my girlfriend's Droid Incredible. It doesn't come with a micro USB plug, I had to purchase one from here, and now have to return them both

Other Thoughts: Maybe it'll work with another phone, but didn't work out for me.
