2 out of 5 eggsWay overpriced product

Pros: The best selling factor is it's size. Bose did a great job in creating small speakers that are easily hidden. The setup is also very easy with only a few wires to connect. This makes this system fairly idiot proof. The all in one receiver design is great because you can do everything from one unit, cuttin out the need for multiple devices.

Cons: The sound quality it terrible. Sounds way to boomy and muffled at mid to high volume levels. Surround effects get muted and distorted in high action sequences. Sub fails to punch unless the sound you are playing is primarily bass. In action movies the sub and speakers seem to blend instead of delivering crisp clear sound.
The build quality of the parts looks good but upon closer inspection the speakers are made from cheap plastic and a rubber/cloth like woofer. I am sure each speaker costs no more than $200.00 to fully produce. Sad but true. Lastly, the price for this system is offensive. Just because it is expensive does not mean it merits that sort of price. MUCH better systems can be found for HALF the price but they don't say BOSE on it.

Other Thoughts: Purchased the 321 System from a Bose Store. Like many others I though it sounded great in the Bose store however when I got it home it sounded terrible. Took it back and Bose gladly gave me a new one. Sounded the same. I thought the speakers needed break in time but after a year I got rid of it for a soundbar system from Definitive Technology. Price was similar but the DT sounded much better than the Bose. Since then I have upgraded my system twice and have realized that Bose is not the way to go UNLESS you have a perfectly square, small room with ceiling no higher than 9 feet. The Bose 321 and V series systems (i have owned both), are best for small square rooms or apartments. If you have a house, get something else. On a positive note the bose system is very easy to use, small and far better than most flat panel's speakers but its not worth $1300.00, $300 maybe. Go with a soundbar from a good company like Yamaha or DT... you won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 eggsBose 321 system

Pros: Everything - don't believe those bad reviews, I bought these for my 58" Plasma and the combo was awesome. I don't think bose can make a bad speaker. They fill any size room and will have your neighbors beating on your door! I don't know how anybody that has actually heard these can say anything negative about them. If you set these up with the included disc you will hear helicopters coming and going and bullets whizzing all around. Just plain FABULOUS!!!.

Cons: Cost too much, but they are Bose.

Other Thoughts: I love these speakers.

1 out of 5 eggsSounds mediocre

Pros: Friends are impressed. At least those that know nothing about speakers.

Cons: I thought they sounded bad. Then I learned only after I got this did I learn that Bose is not universally respected. If you read any stereo review magazine or even look up reviews online, Bose speakers are the laughing stock of the speaker world.

Other Thoughts: I am an idiot for believing the Bose commercials. Don't be an idiot like I was.

4 out of 5 eggsMaybe

Pros: Sound. I have the series II, same thing minus the HDMI. It's hooked up to a Panasonic BD. It's an awsome bedroom system. It's great sound and small footprint make it perfect for a medium to small room.

Cons: Price. It sounds better than my kw 5.1 but it comes at a primium.

Other Thoughts: If you want great sound with a small footprint, this is a definate player. (pun intended.) Music is unimpressive, movies sound great.
