JBL Studio 130 loudspeakers let you hear voices and sounds that you might never have realized were there. With woofers featuring high-output PolyPlas cones, and CMMD Lite tweeter domes with exclusive Bi-Radial waveguides, the Studio 130 creates a fullness of sound with articulate clarity and outstanding bass response.

  • newegg 25 – 240 watts suggested amplifier power range The Studio 130 is designed to deliver enhanced, room-filling sound from a compatible AVR (audio/video receiver) or 25- to 240-watt power amplifier, whether you are using the Studio 130 as a stand-alone unit or as part of a surround-sound system.
  • newegg 4" (100mm) PolyPlas woofer cone Designed to work in tandem to provide a greater level of sound volume, the pair of lightweight, inherently stiff 4-inch (100-millimeter) PolyPlas woofers deliver precise movement and astonishing sound that is deep but never “boomy.”
  • newegg Unique CMMD Lite 1" (25mm) tweeter The CMMD high-frequency tweeter starts as an aluminum dome that is sandwiched on either side with ceramic. The result is strong enough to hold its shape when moving rapidly yet light enough to eliminate unwanted resonances. What your ears notice, however, is subtle, clear detail and lasting, unsullied sound performance.
  • newegg Exclusive Bi-Radial waveguide The Studio 130’s Bi-Radial waveguide disperses high frequencies widely without loss of quality or accuracy, making sure that listening to the JBL Studio 130 loudspeakers is a great experience anyplace where you happen to be listening in the room.
  • newegg Magnetically shielded for video proximity Loudspeakers use magnets. Your TV hates magnets. But that doesn’t mean that you have to listen to movies on your television set’s often inadequate loudspeaker. Nor do you have to compromise your HDTV’s high-definition capabilities. The Studio 130 is optimized for inspired performance and magnetically shielded to prevent any interference with video sources.
  • newegg Distinctive JBL Weave design The JBL Weave design is a perfect convergence of form and function. Whether you need your JBL Studio 130 loudspeakers to blend in or stand out, it makes a bold statement in nearly any listening room.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply great

Pros: At 150$+tx a pair, I will never regret these speakers. Just the final touch I needed for my 5.1 JBL Studio setup

Cons: none, great value really

Other Thoughts: Running with:
- AVR Harman Kardon 435 (7x75w)
- 2x JBL Studio 180 in the front
- 1x JBL Studio 120c in the center
- 1x BIC America F12 for the sub

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Speakers for Music and Movies

Pros: Loudness: These speakers are pretty loud though I never have put them as loud as they can be as they are placed in a small room.

Sound Quality: Great sound quality for the price. great highs and mids,. The bass is satisfying but not as good as a dedicated subwoofer, but yet again that's why I have a sub woofer. If you prefer Highs and Mids over heavy bass then these are the speakers for you, but if you are a bass fanatic then get a subwoofer or different set of speakers. Nonetheles these would be excellent speakers for 2.0 or 2.1 system, or 5.1.

Cons: It didn't come with 100 vinyls.

Other Thoughts: I got these while they were on sale for 130 bucks. You can wait for them to go on sale for 130 bucks, but for the sound they are worth the standard price, thoug the sale makes it even sweeter.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Clean detailed sound, wide dispersion, compact, above average freq response for the size. Great value.

Cons: Ugly as sin. Lucky for me I don't care.

Other Thoughts: This is my second buy of speakers from this product line (the other is the center channel in my living room). I'd also buy the towers if I had any need for them.

5 out of 5 eggsJBL Studio 130 - real monitors!

Pros: Flat frequency response.
Fantastic mid-range.
Excellent tweeters.
Tight bass.
Solid build.
Big sound-stage.

Cons: Imaging is not pin-point.

Other Thoughts: I’ve had the JBL Studio 130 speakers for just 3 days and I am very happy with them. I was hesitant to buy them for the low number of customer reviews. The two professional reviews were positive, so I waited until lowered the price to a point that I couldn’t resist buying them.
The first thing that impressed me is the coherent, integrated and balanced sound. No frequencies stand out over the others. They sound just right connected to a Marantz PM8003 integrated amplifier and Marantz CD5004 cd player in two channel stereo without a sub-woofer.
The second thing that put a smile on my face is the cleanliness of the tweeters. JBL’s ceramic-coated aluminum sounds better than any aluminum or fabric dome tweeter I’ve heard in this price range. Saxophones, trumpets, and high-register piano notes sound intact and resist break-up. There is no roll-off to hide distortion like some other manufacturers use in their designs.
Believe JBL’s website description because it is accurate. Whether at low volume levels or high, they sound fantastic in my small 9 by 10 ft. room. Details such as musicians moaning or singing as they play can be heard clearly. In live recordings, faint audience talking and shouting sounds realistic. With the volume down low, trumpets sound delicate. Articulations are distinct. With the volume turned up, instruments maintain their own space and the mix maintains a “studio monitor” quality. It reminds me of the sound I heard from JBL monitors when I recorded in the 1960s. The music sounds like it’s in the room. Also, like good monitors, they don’t lie. Bad recordings sound bad. Good recordings sound fantastic!
These little bookshelf speakers pass the tap test like a solid piece of wood. I hear no bass boom or annoying cabinet resonances in the music. Don’t let the small 4” woofer scare you away from buying them. They are enjoyable as-is. My experience has been very positive. I wish I could tell you how much I paid Newegg for them. You’d turn green with envy, but it’s against their review policy to quote prices. Watch the price daily until it drops to the level you’re willing to pay. The day I bought, the price was laughably low for only one afternoon.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have these paired in my 7.1 surround sound as my right and left surround. They sound great! I usually lose overall sound in the surround speakers and lack high and lows but these sound just as good as if they were up front. Sleek looking design as well.

Cons: None.
