1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Looks good. Nice combination of features. Subwoofer put out some good bass.

Cons: Poor quality product. The blue-ray player wouldn't play DVD formats that its specifications claim to support. Terrible interference between ipod and sound system when playing music from ipod. I suspect insufficient shielding somewhere either internally, in the wires, or at the connectors. Sound system high's were not crisp and midrange was muddy.

Other Thoughts: Look somewhere else if you want a sound system. The concept for the BD8200 was good but the execution was terrible.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Looks good. Wireless internet dongle and associated applications are nice touches. Integrated pretty well with my Samsung LCD TV, but not as well as it should have ... a bit quirky.

Cons: Bottom line, system is not worth the money. My BD8200 arrived with a defective blue-ray player. It would not play ANY of the DVD formats that its user manual claims it supports. Sound quality is ok, but I'd expect better for the money. The highs were not crisp and midrange was muddy. Several quality control issues were apparent. Defective blue-ray player was one. However, other really annoying ones included poor wire/connector shielding and an inability to save wireless network settings. I noticed very audible interference when playing music from the Ipod via the provided dock: click, click, whirl, click, whirl. After disconnecting and then reconnecting the wireless network adapter, I found that my network settings had not been saved. This was very lame.

Other Thoughts: What is Samsung thinking, selling this low quality, overpriced system. It has completely tarnished Samsung's brand image in my mind.

My BD8200 is going back to Newegg. In the end, the defective blue-ray player means that I cannot keep it even if I could overlook all the other issues.

1 out of 5 eggsok sounds

Pros: a combo unit all in one? really no pros.

Cons: well the sound bar sounds good. but for $550 discounted from $800 this should sounds awesome since blueray cost 100-200 this should sounds like an 5-6 hundred dollar system. nope. sound was barely loud enough for my living room. bass was barely there. not impressed with the unit.

Other Thoughts: i returned it. got the sony ct305 for 300. sounds way better! and loud. as of 11/15 this unit has the most hdmi and technology such as dolby compared to any other sound bar.its only 3.1 but i don't want all the speakers of a 5.1 sounds system. no other sound bar has hdmi inputs to get dolby sound. i only got a samsung b/c i got a new samsung plasma tv

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Outstanding sound clarity, and a very powerful sound

Cons: Somewhat pricey
The touch controls dont always register your touch.

Other Thoughts: Its a larger unit, however it has a Blueray player built in, so it cuts out having to have that extra unit.

4 out of 5 eggsJust what I was looking for

Pros: * Blu-Ray DVD player, Netflix, Blockbuster, FM tuner, iPod dock and external media player all in one device.
* Sounds great. I am by no means a hardcore audiophile, however.
* If you have a Samsung TV, this unit's remote control can be used for both.
* Decent I/O.

Cons: Had to return the first one due to a faulty DVD player. The second one seems solid so far.

Other Thoughts: Both the main device and the subwoofer are big. I don't think the product photo really communicates how big, but review the measurements before buying.

Also, the fan in the back is audible from within ~2 feet or so. Unless you sit uncomfortably close though, it's not really an issue.

Lastly, the on-screen interface takes a little getting used to. Not really a big deal but worth noting.
