Pros: Works with TVs that only have a HDMI port. Dust free

Other Thoughts: Mine worked great once I set it for 2 channel stereo. It was jerky and cutting out until I found that setting in the audio menu. I live in a dusty environment, this will be put to the test. I've never seen the Star Wars Trilogy better.

Pros: Worked perfectly, even as an open box item. Came with RCA cables, a remote and batteries. The remote even works my Samsung TV/Monitor to a medium degree. The remote isn't as functional as the original TV remote, but it operates many of the functions needed for the basics and will make a great backup. The remote is also very compact but easy to use for someone with larger hands.
Very simple dvd player with some nice features in the system setup..

Other Thoughts: Shipping was very prompt and the tracking was update often.

Pros: easy hookup, decent price.

Cons: on older dvd videos it hangs up frequently and cant get past spots. but they play perfectly well on my older Sony dvd player.

Pros: Easy RMA process if you bought it through newegg.

Cons: The DVD-C500 does not play DivX, MPEG-4, and has problems with some DVD-Rs.
The description for the DVD-C500 is misleading and contains things only found on the DVD-C550.

If you dont care about DVD-Rs, DivX, or MPEG-4s this might not be a bad DVD player, otherwise do not get this.

Pros: Works exactly as expected which is all I wanted out of a DVD player.

Cons: The remote is a little small.

Cons: Slightly Large, Not 100% black like most Samsung products (has some silver)

Other Thoughts: The motor noise is not bad at all. Yes, you can hear it if you put ear up to it, but with the TV on mute, and watching from 10 feet away I could not hear it at all.

Pros: Plays my MP4 movies and burned ISOs just fine.

Cons: This unit is very loud though. I thought the whirling sound of the spinning DVD would stop eventually, but no luck.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this is you're looking for a quiet player. While I'm watching movies, I don't notice the noise unless there are silent scenes in my movie.

Pros: Worked great for a week so far. Played copied/burned dvd + and - r's. The upconverting is great, HDMI picture quality is superb compared to the old Sony i had that broke using component video cables. Lots of features for setting up the picture.

Cons: none so far.

Cons: It just won't play dvd's, new or rerecorded. I really wished it did. It plays some but not others, it's really frustrating, even brand new factory dvd's it will hang up or just not play them. I ignored the other reviews here and am writing this so others may not make my mistake. They are right, avoid this player.

Other Thoughts: I have a Samsung Blu-Ray play that plays everything I put in it and it works great. I've had 3 other dvd players of various brands and never had this problem, some may not play certain brands of dvd-r or +r media but this one is by far the worst product I have ever own. My only hope is that Samsung will replace it without too much expense. As always, Newegg rocks!
