Pros: DVD player is fine. Good up conversion.

Cons: Netflix does not work. Support says software issue and will call when it is fixed. This was 30 Days ago. I was about to buy a Samsung 3D LED but I think I will go back to Sony products. I have a computer connected to my Sony 47" that works fine with Netflix but hoped to reduce the equipment in my rack.

Other Thoughts: It is not my internet (18Meg). At least they admitted the issue but still no fix.

4 out of 5 eggsGood value, internet still rough

Pros: Everything as advertised. No problem with machine in first 3 months. Picture is good and wireless internet connect is smooth. Reads disks without any issues. I did a lot of research and still think it is a great high end value.

Cons: As far as the player itself, nothing major.
Very minor complaints: menus are a bit clunky, the remote feels cheap, needed to reload a lot of software, and the touch buttons are a bit awkward to use (can't see them when unit is off to use eject).
Also, linking up to use files on my PC is a bear; after a lot of time with the provided software, I still don't have it working reliably. I though I would be able to stream stuff directly from the internet through the computer, but that doesn't seem to be possible.

Other Thoughts: Not specific to the player, but the internet services are still pretty Beta. Netflix is reasonably good and my wife and kids use it a ton. But Hulu drops all the time and is a major frustration, Plus not all content available on the compter is available on the TV due to their restrictions. The other programs such as flicker and the other picture viewers don't provide much functionality, so we haven't found any use for them.

4 out of 5 eggswhat a picture!

Pros: I'm impressed with the Samsung BD-C6900. I thought I would miss my Samsung BD-P2500 when it died but this is so much better.

The upscaling for DVDs and Netflix is fantastic. The Reon chip in my 2500 was great, but the GPU in the 6900 is much more powerful. It eliminates jaggies, separates colors perfectly and stays much cooler.

Blu-ray discs play beautifully. Color reproduction and motion control are fantastic. Many of the settings aren't supported by my TV, like 24p mode and 3D. Now I need to upgrade the TV.

Load times are faster than the old 2500 too. The fastest loads are from power off. Hit the eject button on the remote, put a disc in, and it loads faster than if it's already on.

Netflix is better too. Instead of a minute or two to buffer, it plays in 20 seconds. You can also search movies and manage your disc and streaming queues from the player.

The 6900 also supports DLNA and the Samsung app store, with apps like Facebook, Pandora and MLBA. Very cool.

Cons: The default display mode is 3D only and there is no auto-detect for 3D TVs.

I discovered this the hard way when I connected the HDMI to my '2D' TV and the display was blank. I had to dig up an analog cable, connect to my TV, set the display mode to 2D, and then connect with HDMI.

I know this is a 3D player. There should be an auto-detect to see if the HDMI cable and TV can handle a 3D signal. Or at least default to 2D (which 3D TVs can display) and offer a big '3D' button when the player detects a new TV over HDMI.

Also, the player has touch-sensitive buttons that go dark in standby mode. You can't use them until you power on. I wish the eject button on the player was active, so you could power on with the eject button without loading the current disc first.

Other Thoughts: That one gripe aside, I love this Blu-ray player. My last one (Samsung BD-P2500) lasted 2 years. I hope this one outlasts it.

2 out of 5 eggsNot ready for prime time on networking

Pros: Does well on the basic blu-ray player functions. Great looks and user interface.

Cons: The networking is unstable and provides little extra content unless you want to start subscribing (and paying) for services. Streaming movies continually stall on a wireless connection that provides smooth downloading to a laptop in the same room. It's own signal evaluation system said my router signal was good, yet it continually stalled. Larger buffer needed?

Other Thoughts: It seems like the other concepts like G**gle TV may offer a better choice on internet content options as long as they can get the networking stable and consistent. Networking was a large part of why I chose this model. When I couldn't get the streaming stable after 3 days of trying, I sent it back - hence the 2 egg rating. If streaming (now or in the future) isn't that important to you, it's not a bad player.

5 out of 5 eggsNice unit!

Pros: This is a high end Blue Ray player that doubles as an internet connection through supported applications. Really does a nice job! This unit is unique because of its audio output support to older analog surround sound systems.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I paired this with a Samsung UN46C8000 TV through an HDMI 1.4 cable. The interface is not flawless, but very user friendly.

2 out of 5 eggsDisappointing

Pros: Great Picture and sound quality

Cons: Does not remember where you left off. BD-Wise does not work with non-Samsung products like A/V receivers. I had problems with loading discs about 20% of the time.

Other Thoughts: This product has great image and sound quality, but at a retail price of $349.00 it should remember where you left off in a movie. BD-Wise is disabled when hooked to me A/V receiver even in pass through mode. It took a long time to load, and sometimes I had to load a disc twice for it to play. I am very disappointed with this player. I thought I was buying a Samsung's flagship product, but they seemed to have neglected a very basic feature on this high-end product. I think the disk loading problem may have been a defect, but forgetting where you left off in movie was a deal breaker for me.
I purchased a Sony S770 to replace it, and am very pleased with it.

5 out of 5 eggsBest of the bunch hands down!

Pros: This BD player is just amazing. I was skeptical at first to spend the extra but bundled with the Samsung 3DTV 46" or maybe it was 47" anyway it's the ultimate Blue Ray Player out for anyone to purchase who wants the option even of the 3D playback if they end up later with 3D Capable TV. I wish more people would adopt this 3D stuff even in it's infancy it's totally worth purchasing!

Cons: NONE whatsoever!

Other Thoughts: This thing .... I mean I couldn't ask for more it will play my HD 1080p .mkv files from accross the network or if I just plug in an external usb hdd to it BLAM! I couldn't have asked for more from this model. I would reccomend it to anyone period!

4 out of 5 eggsStill has glitches

Pros: Great machine, well organized menu's (internet). Saved me from buying new receiver with HDMI because of the 7.1 analog outputs.

Cons: The NETFLIX streaming is not quite there yet. the 6900 test the line speed before playing... but it often pauses and re-test the line. Apparently it assumes to high a speed, or has to small of a buffer. If it test the line and determines it can play HD... it may pause and re-test every 20 or 30 seconds. I found that I could start a file transfer on a PC, then go to the 6900 and play NETFLIX... it would test the line, come up with a slower speed ... and then play a whole movie without pausing (after I stopped my PC). This is of course way to much hassle to watch a movie. Then some days, it might play a whole movie without stopping. I have a DSL line, with 'up to' 6.0 Mbps, and have tested it with no other devices on network.
