Your wait is over!
- Pros: Setup was easy -- Install software, plugin AC power cord and USB cable, and start software. Follow the instructions in the enclosed manual! Manual was okay (see cons). One of my main objectives was to digitize my old 78 RPM albums. I found a manual on-line (at Ion website, I believe) that gave EXCELLENT step-by-step instructions for using Audacity software 78 RPM conversion!! If you need to digitize your old vinyl (with all the inherent burps, bumps, and cracks!), this product is the way to go. Great tool for the money!
- Cons: The manual that came with the turntable kept referring to the "Play" button. Where the h&$% is the Play" button??? It is not the "Play" button, they are referring to the "Cue" button!!! Moving the arm toward the record starts the turntable. Depressing the Cue button LOWERS THE ARM and begins "Play"! One more thing... if you get no sound during play, check the items listed in the back of the manual. I checked them FIVE times! If those items don't fix the problem, take the shield off of the cartridge!!! Duh!! (That's why the needle wasn't moving even though it was 'down'.)
- Other Thoughts: I'm pleased... now does someone want to come to my place and manually record all 2000 of my 45's and 300 albums?!? lol Happy Holidays!
Displeased
- Pros: The Software was concise and simple, the build was durable, and for the life of me I haven't been able to find a low cost piece with a cartridge.
- Cons: Lacking a Start/Play button lead me to believe I must Un and Re plug the power, or tinker, as will be discussed momentarily. The drive belt worked for a short amount of time, then began to slide. The drive itself was spinning at the correct and constant rate of 33 and 1/3 rpm, sadly, the belt slipped, and the Arm locked in place.
The cue button to lower the arm only raised it, and would not lower it more than a millimeter.
In short, the instructions mention a Start/Play button which doesn't exist, the arm wont properly rest, contact the vinyl, or lock in place, the belt lack's any grip to the drive, and constanly falls off.
- Other Thoughts: I have only owned this piece for 6 hours and it has frustrated 20 people I've called to come fix it. The help line is closed before 7, I believe, and I am generally dissatisfied.
I will be on the line for support all day tomorrow, and if the problemS persist, I shall apply for a full refund.

VINYL on MP3 = AWESOME
- Pros: Can convert any record I have into an MP3 and what more do you want then that? It took a little getting used to when it came to playing with the program on the computer but totally worth it. Now I can bop around like all the cool kids in my car with my MP3 player but playing GOOD MUSIC!!!! I also like the fact that the vinyl sound is there makes it more authenitc. Then again if your Vinyl is in good shape the vinyl sound is not that noticeable.
- Cons: The only complaint I have is that there is no actual pause button on the program when you are converting just one vinyl track off a whole LP. You should be able to have a pause button or something on the program. But thats a small complaint you get over it once you realize how great this product is.
- Other Thoughts: When I saw this offered online I was both excited and skepitcal. After reading many REVIEWS both positive and negative I thought I would Give it a whirl. or spin if you will. I also hooked it up to my stereo and the sound was excellent considering some of the records I played belonged to my Grandfather. My Grandmother also got a great kick out of listening to all the "oldies" again!
Gets the Job Done
- Pros: Very easy to use/ setup. Includes all necessary cables.
Nice output to my stereo via componet cables. Decent quality recordings. Worthwhile, but not "archival" quality or something like that.
- Cons: The sound quality needs to be a little bit better for such a high price.
It has automatic song recognition via Gracenote which sweet, but it takes a long time, sometimes is wrong, and cannot be disabled.
- Other Thoughts: Nice, pain free way to record some vinyl.
At this price consider just buying the songs you like on your vinyl (which will be a higher quality.)
Overall, I like it.
Happy with product
- Pros: Does everything it says it would!
- Cons: I should have brought a hard drive I have a lot of albums
