Sangean's new RCR-10 atomic clock radio is your perfect companion in the morning. Made for iPods, this system allows you to listen to your favorite tunes using the integrated docking station. The RCR-10 has a built-in AM/FM tuner and memory for 10 presets, letting you listen to your favorite music and talk radio. The large HTN with brightness adjustment makes it easy to see and read in the morning. The system features 2 alarm timers plus snooze function, a comprehensive iPod dock adjuster and super capacitor or batteries for power backup.
think twice before buying it
This review is from: Sangean AM / FM-RBDS Digital Tuning Stereo Atomic Clock Radio with iPod Dock RCR-10 WH
Pros: solid build, no problem to play my 3rd Gen iPod, surprisingly clear sound (for an alarm clock!), good progressive volume buzzer, large snooze button, alarms can be set independently with their own volume, source and in either weekdays/weekends/everyday/once mode, remote control also could be useful if the alarm clock is somewhat far from bed
Cons: LCD indicator is absolutely useless, at least in its white case version, using dimmer you can control brightness of it but reading the screen is ONLY possible if the alarm is a way BELOW the bed level(on floor?) AT CERTAIN ANGLE and even then still HARD to read! Setting alarm to iPod source will play it from the place you last left it (does not reset to beginning of the selected song and will move to the next on the list when this one ends)
Other Thoughts: if Sangean 1) improves the indicator readability, 2) adds an option to reset iPod song played in alarm mode and maybe even 3) add gradual light brightness increase right before alarm goes off, then I would call it a perfect alarm clock, till then it is an overpriced item with some design flaws. I very hope they read my review as their existing design(hardware) already supports most of my recommendations
