Peerless' PRG-UNV Precision Gear Projector Mount is changing the way image alignment is done. The patent-pending precision gear design provides exact tilt and roll image positioning with a simple turn of a knob. Once the installer sets the precision gear to the desired position it stays securely in place. Other Thoughts: I used this to mount my new Epson 5030UB projector on a ceiling and the installation process was easy and smooth. It holds this heavy weight projector very safely. Definitely recommend to others.

Pros: Fine adjustment with brass gears!
Mount it with a 1.5 inch NPT threaded pipe 'spool' (can't use proper name due to Newegg 'filters') and floor flange from your local plumbing store!
Has some fancy allen head "security" bolts involved (Pro: security, so people can't mess with things)

Cons: Did I mention it has some fancy allen head "security" bolts? If you lost the hex key it comes with, you might get frustrated.

Other Thoughts: I am a volunteer who does audio-video tech at our 100-150 person church. I read mediocre reviews on cheaper units and did not have time to 'mess around', so I got this one. So it's not like I have enough tech experience to compare this to what you would get for $30. But as an engineer, I'd have to say this is well made and you are getting what you are paying for. It's even got little brass gears in there (not plastic, uhg!) for the fine adjustment of tilt and angle.

Pros: Easy to install and friendly instructions.

Cons: The system lacks a better rotating axis. Works on a Mitsubishi HC5500 but had to play with it for a while b/c the legs that mount to the projector need to be lifted. It took me about 20 minutes to figure how to install it to the projector but the entire process took me no more than an hour.
