IOGEAR - 3-Port HDMI Switch w/ Remote (GHDSW3) IOGEAR - 3-Port HDMI Switch w/ Remote (GHDSW3)

Pros: does exactly what it says for basic HDMI items

Cons: if you're using it for a game console or apple TV you're going to have to contact iogear customer service. For those they need a power outlet for the product. Sent to me free of charge, but took a week to get here.
Tip: contact customer service the day to order the item and tell them that you're having video issues with a console connected, guy on CS side asked no questions

Pros: bought this product from a local company and does exactly what it is supposed to do. have it set up to switch between my PS3 and 360, and then connect to my receiver.

Cons: the PS3 would not display unless I had also the 360 turned on as well. To fix this I called IOgear and, informed then that I had a PS3 they immediately, asked for my address and said they were shipping me a power cord. this fix the problem. Only other issue is that if you do not have selected the 360 before starting it up it will not load until you do or the 360 will shut down after about a minute.

Lately I have had it were it will randomly switch on it's own when nothing is powered on, and once when it was transitioning from the home page to then a game disc.

Other Thoughts: They should release a version of the product with the power cord included

Pros: Sorry I have to repeat this but it is so true.

Cons: 100% NOT HDCP compliant. Don't make the mistake I did and buy this. It works with a couple of HDMI devices like Roku. It will not let through any signal with the higher quality equipment like Blu-Ray. $29.00 and a Radio Shack fixed the problem with a switcher that works.

Pros: Does what it says

Cons: Device that is powering switch can behave abnormally

Other Thoughts: The device that powers the switch can become unable to turn off when other devices attached to the switch are also on. This can lead to some undesired behavior. Overall though, the switch is benign and works as intended.

Pros: Small, comes with remote control, status led's on the switch, instant connection for additional 3 HDMI devices, toggle switch on device just in case the remote control fails to work.

Cons: Only 3 inputs and wish that it had more but not a biggie, does not work with all HDMI cables and one of your devices that is hooked up to this switch needs to be powered ON for this switch to work. Please see other thoughts for more info.

Other Thoughts: Our home theater system has alot of devices that connect with HDMI and we needed this switch to connect them all. Our Samsung DLP Tv only had 3 HDMI inputs and this mos def saved our bacon. However we did have some issues when we first un boxed this switch.

Make sure that you test your cables with this switch. Our initial test and setup had some issues; a 3 foot cable worked perfectly but for some reason a 6 foot cable had issues sending the HDMI signal. We we're able to use another 6 foot cable that could send the HDMI signal and fixed the error.

Also if you have a Logitech Harmony remote control, we were able to sync it with this device.

Overall a very good product, it's too bad that one of your devices has to stay on to power the switch. Your experience will differ and our case our Xfinity HD/DVR box and PS3 could not power this device however our Western Digital TV Live Streaming Media Player does the trick.

Pros: Can hook up to 3 devices in through this device.

Cons: Might be a little tricky to get working (as the above story shows).

Other Thoughts: It works well but a lot of the "doesn't work" reviews are probably due to people's lack of knowledge. The device is powered through the HDMI connection to your BR player/Xbox/cable box. If this HDMI cable is subpar then the device will not be powered. At first I thought mine was also broken or that certain devices didn't put out enough to power the HDMI switch. My Samsung BR player that's 1.5 years old and brand new cable box wouldn't power the switch but my XBox 360 did. So I swapped out the Monster HDMI (lol GF bought it not me) with the HDMI plugged into the Xbox 360 and the BR player now powered the switch.

At least one device needs to be turned on for this HDMI switch to be powered.

Pros: This is a great product from a company that show some global responsibility. Works with my Xbox 360 and my PS3.

Cons: Have to make so many copies to get a rebate but every company does this.

Other Thoughts: After I bought this product I came back to Newegg.com to thoroughly read the reviews when I seen that some people had trouble with their Xbox 360's I got concerned. The only trouble I had is that when I switched to the PS3 a small popping sound would come from the T.V. so I called IoGEAR and three days later they sent me a power adapter. Now there is no popping sound. Great customer service. In the past I have bought 4 different products from Iogear through Newegg and they all work great. Good quality and outstanding customer service. They also support a greener business model, which all companies should be doing. Because of this they will get my business in the future. Now I don't need to keep plugging and unplugging my hdmi cords so no wear and tear on the cord or my consoles. Good Job IoGEAR.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: It didn't work out of box

Other Thoughts: Dont buy this Piece of JUNK

Pros: Its small and fits easily in most trash cans.

Cons: Doesn't work. Well, it works for several seconds at a time. But if you want a constant uninterrupted signal, it doesn't fit the bill. Mine keeps a signal for about 20 seconds and then the signal is lost or something because my TV goes blank for 2 seconds.

Other Thoughts: Do not buy. The one I have is basically worthless. Setting my money on fire would have been at least more entertaining.

Pros: Very small, remote is great, no picture quality issues at all

Cons: Apparently the cable box doesn't provide enough power to the device. The lights on the box illuminate, but I cannot get a picture on the television until I turn on the other device (PS3). The PS3 on the other hand operates fine without the cable box.

Other Thoughts: It's not a show stopper, but it's enough of an inconvenience to always have to turn on both if I just want to watch TV
