4 out of 5 eggsToo expensive for what you get.

Pros: Works well for multipled High Def tv's. I wanted to be able to access my Vista Media Center pc in my living room, bedroom, and basement. It did the job with only one major con.

Cons: Ohter then being expensive.... It doesn't have an audio out port on the actual zv box. This is sucks because I have the Media Center PC connected to a projector and stereo and if ZV is enabled it takes control of the audio disabling all audio from the sound card. If it had an audio out port on the zv box I could just hook the sound from it to my stereo. Unfortunately whenever I have the ZV enabled I get sound in my bedroom and basement but not where my projector is. It also rus very hot and has stopped responding on me a few times and needed to be power cycled. I probably have to power cycle it about once every 2 or 3 weeks.

Other Thoughts: Well worth a couple hundred $$ but definitely not worth $500 it however was the only thing I could find that would allow me to access the same Media Center content in my whole house without purchasing individual media extenders.
I can only hope ZV will improve on this model and maybe even get some competition in the market. I think there is a demand for this stuff. Especially as more people get high def tv's.

3 out of 5 eggsWhy!?

Pros: Lighten your wallet.
DIY Idiot-proof.
Connects multiple TVs.

Cons: For the same price ($500) you can have someone build you a HTPC and network the computer (find a good friend and have her do it for free). Of course, this isn't really a Con if you are connecting several TVs up to the same PC.

Other Thoughts: Do you really need every TV in your house connected to a PC, or just to the Living Room TV?

If you don't you can look into the parts for yourself right here on NewEgg. Check out Item# N82E16856110082, a nice looking Asus Barebone. Then combine em with other parts here (CPU, DVD, HD, Wireless KB/Mouse/Remote, WiFi, & RAM). Then get WinXPMC OEM. I checked September '08 and the total cost is a little under 500 - including s/h.

Good thing about a setup like this vs ZeeVee is that you can upgrade later on, and do more with an actual PC.
