Power, detail and emotion define the sound that pumps out of a Synergy Series B-3 bookshelf loudspeaker. This masterpiece of design and performance provides an exceptional dynamic punch that makes it a great alternative for living spaces that won't accommodate a tower speaker. This third generation Synergy bookshelf model benefits from more than 55 years of Klipsch engineering experience and aesthetic upgrades that are representative of a new quality of craftsmanship.
It offers a winning combination of powerful bass with remarkable detail and high volumes with low distortion, making it a perfect delivery source for today's advanced digital music formats. The B-3 gets its performance thrills by employing a 6.5-inch IMG woofer and 1-inch aluminum-dome compression driver coupled to an exclusive square Tractrix Horn. It also features a rear-mounted port that increases efficiency and extends bass response.
Available in a black finish with titanium accents, the contemporary look of the B-3 is two-fold. With its grille on, the B3 offers a sense of elegance that nicely blends in with your home décor, but take the grille off and you get an aggressive and powerful statement that exudes extreme performance. The Synergy Series B-3 is a stylish and high-performance choice for the discerning audiophile who requires towering achievement in a bookshelf design.
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: more than 1 year
Pros: These actually sound really good. They can easily fill a small to medium sized space with some really great sound. When used with a sub they sound even better. For this price, dont settle for the " It's got no highs, it's got no lows, it must be ****".
Cons: They can sound a bit "bright" when certain amp/receivers. Just make sure to adjust the treble if needed. You could get the reference versions of these for just a few dollars more.
Other Thoughts: I have these as my bedroom speakers (all my speakers are Klipsch). I run them with an H&K receiver and a Polk PSW111 8 inch sub. The combo is more than I could have wanted for a bedroom setup. Setup sounds great for everyday music. I so just want to crank it but I live in an apt and I don't want to ____ off my neighbors.
Even for a home theater setup these could work very well. Just don't get a cheap (sub 200 bucks) amp/receiver, you'll disappointed.

Pros: Simply amazing. I've listened to bottom to middle of the line Polk's and they're no match for the B-3.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: Skeptical at first about purchasing speakers I've never personally heard. Owned the Promedia 2.1 for 7yrs. and enjoyed them very much so I figured a component setup should sound better. Gotta say, these B-3's are amazing! Have them hooked through an Onkyo TX-SR507 without a sub and they produce (sub comes soon: Dayton 10"). Compared to the Polk's I've listened to (Monitor and TSi series) the Klipsch's have more dimension to them while the Polks seemed hollow. The B-3's definitely have more in the mids which were where the Polks lacked (helps due the the larger driver). Father owns a Polk setup and they sound great; just in the end, it's personal preference. Klipsch was always a little more pricier but since these were on sale, figure I'd get them since they were they same price as the TSi's. Not disappointed one bit.

Pros: These make perfect L/R speakers for my 7.1 system! The high's and mid's are incredible. I've turned my sub off and put these speakers on full just to check out how they are on there own and it's surprising just how good they sound by themselves. The bass is full and punchy and really help add definition to my sub.
Cons: The are the highest price of all the speakers newegg has available in the bookshelf line. However you really get what you pay for and Klipsch really knows how to make quality home stereo components. If you're an audiophile with a budget, you can't get much better. However the B-1s or B-2s will give the average home theater the range needed for a great home theater at a more reasonable price.
Other Thoughts: Newegg got them to my place in a day and with free shipping!
