A masterpiece of sound and design, the Synergy Series Sub-10 shakes things up with its rock-solid performances. Its extraordinary power adds a dose of "reality" to movie explosions and other special effects, as well as reveals commonly elusive lower musical tones.

The Sub-10 reaches deeper and hits harder thanks to a 10-inch, down-firing driver coupled to a highly efficient BASH amplifier that creates 200 watts of continuous power and 420 watts of dynamic power. The subwoofer's built-in, steep-slope (24dB/octave) low-pass crossover is continuously adjustable from 40 to 120Hz. A phase control facilitates acoustical integration of the subwoofer with the other speakers in the system. An "auto power" feature enables the subwoofer to turn itself on and off (standby) automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal. A blue/red dual color LED display on the front of the subwoofer indicates whether the unit is on or in standby mode.

In addition to delivering a bass impact that's beyond restraint, the Sub-10 features a new industrial design that is refined and aggressive. Available in a black finish with titanium accents, this extraordinary subwoofer matches the entire Synergy Series lineup in both style and performance. With its charged presence and room-rocking abilities, the Sub-10 delivers an adrenaline rush of sound that will impress your friends and provide years of high-quality audio entertainment.

  • newegg Impressive Bass The Klipsch Synergy Sub-10 boasts a 10" fiber-composite cone, down-firing woofer driver to deliver deep, accurate and tight bass, making your movies and music more realistic.
  • newegg High Dynamic Power Capable of handling 420W dynamic power, the Klipsch Synergy Sub-10 subwoofer delivers top-notch bass sound, making it an ideal match for your speaker system.
  • newegg BASH Technology The BASH technology is a successful marriage of high efficiency, low distortion, high bandwidth, low EMI and sound quality resulting in the most cost effective solution.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick Shipping

Pros: Speaker arrived in 2 business days after order placement. Subwoofer arrived in good condition, hooked it up, sounds awesome. This subwoofer replaces an identical unit that died after several years. I spent the extra on sale $20 for the extended 3 year warranty since many are saying the subwoofer gives up after a couple of years. For the sale price, outstanding Klipsch sound it was a great deal I am very happy with!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: As of today, still on sale on Newegg at a very good price. I would highly recommend to others, even at $169, you will not find another subwoofer on the market to compare for the money.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware of planned obsolescence

Pros: Sounds good...till it doesn't

Cons: Died with just six months of use

Other Thoughts: I had bought Klipsch Promedia 2.1 speakers for PC some years ago, but used them only for six months, then put them away. When I installed them again to use them, the woofer unit, which also contains the power switch stopped turning on. I wrote to the Klipsch corporation explaining my very minimal usage, and asking for a repair at no cost even though the speaker was out of warranty. After three weeks, the support person at Klipsch sent me the address of an authorized dealer in Michigan, 2200 miles away, when the speakers were lying in Orange county, California, and there were a dozen authorized dealer within 20 miles of my location. Understandably, Klipsch Promedia are no longer available at NewEgg. They are "out of stock" along with all other Promedia models. The woofer has all the technology to give a superior sound, but make sure you understand, one day, suddenly, before you realize it, there will be no sound, and the unit will simply not turn on.

2 out of 5 eggsSounds OK until it dies

Pros: Sound is decent

Cons: I had this in a home theater setup that was used lightly for a couple months then sat idle for over a year. Went to use it today and it is mostly dead (woofer will vibrate slightly with gain at full but no sound). Verified that it was the sub by plugging in a different one. I am just barely out of the 2 year warranty period, but this had been used maybe 10-15 times before going out. Guess I am partly to blame for not checking it earlier, but I'm out $200 now. Judging from other reviews on here I'm thinking these are just shoddily constructed.

Other Thoughts: YMMV but I would avoid

3 out of 5 eggsDidn't last

Pros: The subwoofer was loud. It sounded great, I loved it.

Cons: Died within 23 months. Newegg lists a 2 year warranty on it, so I think I might be able to get some compensation under warranty, but I was disappointed. I really only used this subwoofer very little. The gain was always turned to AT MOST halfway, usually much less because it was loud enough for me. Was not pushed to it's limits in any way.

1 out of 5 eggsDied with only moderate use

Pros: Sounded good

Cons: I bought 2 last summer. They were never driven hard. By the time winter came they both had died.

2 out of 5 eggsFLAMED OUT AFTER ONLY 17 MONTHS!!!

Pros: Bought to complement a set of two Klipsch B-20s (front L&F), four S-10s (front presence and surround), and two C-20s at center along with an older Polk Audio sub, all powered by a Yamaha V667. The Sub-10 replaced the PA Sub and completely rounded out that unique Klipsch sound that many and some hate. Me, I was in Klipsch heaven!
Everything was perfectly balanced. So, I decided to upgrade the B-20s for a set of F-20s, hoping for an ever better experience. Wrong! The Sub 10 decided to die two days before the F-20s arrived.

Cons: After only 17 months of very light usage, the Sub -10 went the way of so many other Sub 10s (Google Klipsch Sub 10 problems and you will find a large number owners who have had the same problem). a call to Klipsch tech service suggested replacing the fuse. That didn't work.

Other Thoughts: Can't believe Klipsch allowed this model to be marketed. It lends some credence to Klipsch critics' complaints about the production quality of its products.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Promedia 2.1 THX

Pros: Loved this setup. Good quality and sound. Used with my SoundBlaster X-Fi.
Paid $150 in July 2005.
Just went dead on me June 2014.

Cons: I don't understand how a well taken care of electrical equipment can not work in this day of electronics. There are no tubes. And the two (2) fuses are not blown.

4 out of 5 eggsFeel It

Pros: This sub's price can't be beat.
At half volume this thing fills the room with deep rich bass.
The name.

Cons: Auto Sensing is a bit flakey.
Cost to upgrade the shipping was astronomical.

Other Thoughts: this finishes off my Klipsch Surround 5.1 system very well.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Synergy Sub-10 420W 10" Subwoofer

Pros: Simple to setup in many different speaker configurations. All the controls are properly marked and easy to see. Too many times I must use a flash light and magnifying glass to read it. That's when most mistakes are made. It also has a very sturdy chassis. No rattles at all. The biggest pro of all. It sounds awesome at any volume level, surround sound type. I want to buy another one.

Cons: Controls could be on the top/front of the sub box. When it arrived it had a big gaping tear in it. Shipping is always an important thing to consider. This was by USPS.

Other Thoughts: Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
Where does the white go when the snow melts?
