Capturing all the sonic excitement of low-frequency effects, the Reference Series RW-12d Digitally Controlled Subwoofer (DCS) delivers rock-solid performances. With its class-leading technology and superior design, this hard-hitter perfectly rounds out a home theater or two-channel stereo music system.

The RW-12d shakes things up by employing a 12-inch front-firing Cerametallic woofer and a 340-watt RMS amplifier. Exclusive Corner Port Technology allows the subwoofer's port tube to be as long as possible without bending, minimizing turbulence that can cause port noise and distortion. It also allows the enclosure to be tuned to a lower frequency than would otherwise be possible to create deeper bass from a smaller cabinet. Another important element is a corner-shaped flange at the port's internal opening, which amplifies the benefits of a longer port.

For quick and easy adjustment of all functions, the RW-12d features the DCS digital user-interface that includes three equalization modes (flat, depth and punch) and three user-adjustable presets (music, movie and night) to create specific listening preferences. Available in a black woodgrain vinyl finish, this extraordinary subwoofer also comes with an IR sensor for operation with select learning remotes or control systems.

  • newegg Impressive Bass The Klipsch RW-12d boasts a 12" front-firing Cerametallic woofer to deliver deep, accurate and tight bass, making your movies and music more realistic.
  • newegg High Dynamic Power Capable of handling 825W dynamic power, the Klipsch RW-12d subwoofer delivers top-notch bass sound, making it an ideal match for your speaker system.
  • newegg Corner Port Technology Powered by the exclusive Corner Port technology, the subwoofer's port tube could be as long as possible without bending, resulting in minimized turbulence that can cause port noise and distortion for a more pure, clear sound.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!!!

Pros: Im not too sure where to start with the pros but I will give it a shot. This thing is BEAUTIFUL and LOUDDDDDDD!!! After giving it a little time to break in this sub is sure to make any owner very happy (and annoy all the neighbors.. oops) The Klipsh RW-12d is clean, clear, loud and looks great while doing it! The top mounted controls make it a breeze to setup presets (up to 3) and is great for at night when you need it to back down a little so the neighbors don't call the police on you! :)

Cons: Does not put things it knocks off the walls back where they were! lol

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for an awesome sub at a great price then look no further! This is the cheapest sub that you will find that will deliver these kind of results! I am almost considering buying a second one just for the heck of it if i have a little extra cash burning a hole in my pocket!

5 out of 5 eggsBest SUB in its class

Pros: Possibly the best subwoofer under $500. Tight and precise bass, excellent for movies. Not too bad for music either, but movies is where it really shines. Love it. Will probably get another if it is back on sale.

Cons: None - unless you don't have the sapce for it, in which case its size might be an issue. Also if you live in an apt, then do not get this else your neighbours will hate you.

4 out of 5 eggsSPL, no SQL

Pros: Large, sturdy cabinet is reasonably attractive for its design age. Onboard adjustments include crossover in 5hz increments, phase in 10 degree increments, volume relative to signal including 5db above signal volume.

Cons: Internal port tubing is poorly secured and often delivered detached. Port design is QUITE noisy, particularly against a reflective (ie: wood/tile) surface. Woofer is not particularly well controlled at volume, likely due to its somewhat limited rigidity, especially for this class of equipment.

Other Thoughts: I question if Klipsch actually has a massive stock of these sitting somewhere for firesales. I think they're just remaking them to using inferior quality materials with a 'big name'. At MSRP, this is a poor subwoofer. At firesale prices - this subwoofer has rather high SPL for the dollar and can audibly produce 25hz.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Very Deep Bass and very loud I haven't had any problems with the known Vibration that some have experienced

Cons: wish it came with the remote so I could stay lazy and control the volume of the bass with out getting up

Other Thoughts: I own two of these one has plenty of bass but it you want to really feel the bass turn it around so it fires into you corner of a wall or get two then fire them into the corner of each wall then youll be able to fell it hit in your chest

3 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Reference RW-12d 12" Subwoofer

Pros: It arrived.

Cons: Vent port cone was loose flopping around in box. Sent back and Newegg is sending another one.
The sub is $999 right now? I paid $280, I would be furious if I had paid one grand! I will add to this review when next sub comes in mail.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Sub

Pros: I received the box in perfect condition. No damage whatsoever. Double boxed. No loose internals or broken grill. I have a smaller 8 inch Klipsch sub and wanted a deeper, fuller low end. This 12"definitely delivers. With a 7.2 system it takes a bit of tuning to get it set correctly. Once tweaked though it will rock your world. Deep punchy bass that you can really feel. Reproduces the theater experience and set properly makes music a pure joy to experience. For the price I got this for, it was a steal! Completely satisfied!

Cons: None, performs as expected and more...

Other Thoughts: You need to be familiar with setting your system up. Properly tuning your environmental parameters in the A/V receiver and obtaining a smooth transition between drivers. Once done this truly is a $1000 Sub. Enjoy !!!

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Seals the Deal

Pros: Great Bass, Easy Access controls, Looks Fantastic,

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Way above Anything in performance for my deal. For under three bills you can not beat this deal anywhere....This thing has plenty of quick bass response. Double packaged, nice, the Klipsch box looks like it just rolled off the factory line. Paired this up with Martin Logans I bought here on another steal. Now I have another 2.1 system that rocks the house. I couldn't be more satisfied, but my neighbors won't be :-)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sub

Pros: Great sound. Hits hard. Deep bass. The auto on / off works well. Cheaper Klipsch model sub does not. I recommend this sub to all my friends and personally want to buy another!

Cons: The only con I can think of is the neighbors now hate me when listening to music / movie.

The glass over the display cracked from the amount of stress the box has due to massive pressure waves from the sub.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this product to anyone! For $280 its an amazing deal!
