The WS-24 is for those who want home theater speakers that look as good as they sound. When compared to traditional surround speakers the WS-24 is more refined taking up less space while still delivering the signature high-output low-distortion sound.

Klipsch engineers managed to generate excellent output and dispersion from this slim speaker by employing an all-new proprietary technology called the XT Tractrix Horn. XT engineering advances the company’s classic, proven technology to new levels of sophistication by altering the surface geometry of the horn for a wide, consistent soundstage. Also, through exclusive Wide Dispersion Surround Technology, or WDST, the WS-24 provides crystal-clear sonic detail in listening areas with less-than-ideal configurations.

Stunningly beautiful, the WS-24 features a timeless wood veneer cabinet finished in Espresso. While most of the speakers in this category feature domestic veneers, the WS-24 has an exotic, non-endangered Berlinia veneer from West Africa. The WS-24 cabinet is carefully sanded, sealed and stained. Much like in high-end furniture manufacturing, the stain is then top coated with a polyurethane finish. This spray application involves 10 coats, with sanding in-between each coat to achieve the proper thickness.

  • newegg Superior Sound Quality The Klipsch WS-24 boasts dual 4.5" (11.4 cm) high-output, fiberglass cone woofers, a 1" (2.5 cm) titanium diaphragm compression driver mated to a 3.75" 80 x 80 round Tractrix(r) horn to deliver precise highs and amazing lows. The XT engineering takes Klipsch’s time-proven philosophy to new heights by altering the surface geometry of the dual horns. Enjoy enveloping surround sound and precise localization.
  • newegg Wide Dispersion Surround Technology, Exclusive Wide Dispersion Surround Technology, or WDST, allows the WS-24 to create a smooth, high dispersion pattern, providing crystal-clear sonic detail even in listening areas with less than ideal configurations. So, no matter where you sit, this speaker promises to draw you into the middle of the action.
  • newegg Stylish Design Sporting a timeless wood veneer cabinet finished in Espresso and slim design, the Klipsch WS-24 is a perfect match with your flat-panel TV, plasma monitors and other thin-line home cinema components.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Surrounds

Pros: Great sound and wide dispersion. Occasional price dips make these very attractive speakers.

Cons: Mounting Option is not 16" spacing or single point as mentioned in other reviewed. Grills cannot be taken off to clean dust.

Other Thoughts: Mounting is not 16" spacing and should just be a single point. I ended up picking up a piece of 3"x24" @ 1/4 bar stock from HD and make my own brackets that I then inserted (cannot use the word screw$d apparently) into the wall. Didn't want to go the stud + wall anchor route. Plus I was able to place them in corners of back wall. I now have WF-35s, WC-24, and a set of these coupled with homemade AVS F-20 subwoofer... very happy with the cost vs. performance/appearance.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch Forever

Pros: Very efficient Great finish on these surrounds

Cons: None really but like everyone else I had the crossover upgrade done

Other Thoughts: These are big surrounds I use a set for my high front wide surrounds a set for my sides and another set for the rear. These spearker put out 91db @8ohm with 1 watt. And the espresso finish looks great with accent lighting

5 out of 5 eggsGreat surround Speaker

Pros: Looks great like all the other Icon W speakers. The WDST (Wide Dispersion Surround Technology) truly makes these speakers great. They are able to fill in a lot of the gaps in the sound stage, which was definitely needed in my living room.

Cons: The dual keyhole mount is just silly. The speaker is not wide enough to go on 16" centers so at best you will have one keyhole on a stud and the other on a drywall anchor. Kind of a pain for leveling too compared to a single keyhole setup (like found in the Reference line of surround speakers). This is the only flaw I found in this speaker.

Other Thoughts: The grill on these speakers is not meant to be removable like all the other W series speakers. Not a big deal because I leave all the grills on all my speakers anyway (I don't want animals or kids poking the speaker cones). Also make sure to polish these speakers up with some furniture polish after install because they will be covered in finger prints, and it makes them really shine.

5 out of 5 eggsKlipsch WS-24 surround speakers

Pros: I like em. I like em a lot! They sound great! there is no discernable distortion at the volumes I am allowed to listen to. They're beautiful to look at with the shiny black wood finish. When I was in the Air Force and in Germany, everyone was getting their stero systems. I remember the Klipsch cornwalls. they were too expensive for them then so I got Pioneer HPM1500. Listening to these makes me wish I found a way to get the Klipsch!

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome Surrounds

Pros: When I opened these speakers I couldnt believe how big they are. They could serve as front bookshelve speakers. They have great overall response. Lows are deep and highs are crisp. Although my previous speakers were not very good to use as a refernce, the surround sound during an action movie will have you immersed. They are much louder and clearer than anything I have ever owned. Volume and clairity on surrounds was always a concern of mine.

In my opinion if your room is accoustically correct these speakers could produce sounds closely to what you hear in a movie theater!!!

Mounting was easy and rubber feet on the back are great for vibration absorbtion.

a pair of these bad boys for around $300 bucks was a great addition to my home theater

Cons: I wish the front grill easily detached but not a big deal

Other Thoughts: Great price, fast shipping.

The finish and detail are supper high quality. They look very profesional

5 out of 5 eggsOne of the best surround speakers out there

Pros: Awesome speakers - very detailed and clear. spatial presence is awesome

Cons: none really - I will replace (or bypass) crossover capacitors with the better quality ones, but first I'll try it on wf-35's and wc-24

Other Thoughts: 4X ws-24 with WF-35's and Wc-24 - changing crossover components and internal wiring on wf-35's and wc-24 with Jentzen supreme

5 out of 5 eggsGreat sound when paired with it's Icon-W companions

Pros: These are my rear surround speakers in my 5.1 Klipsch Icon-W setup .

In particular I like these for the diffuse sound as I have problems with rear speaker placement.

Instead of being able to have two "regular speakers" spaced at the same distances / angles as the front surround - I have one only 3 feet behind the couch and the other is about 10 feet behind the couch.

So I couldn't use speakers like the WB-14s - esp considering the one that was so close.

These are great for that rear sound field and the stereo (STR-DH820 ) compensates for my distances.

These are paired with Icon-W WC-24 center and WF-34 front surrounds and a RW-10D subwoofer

I had WB-14's for front surrounds but got an 'Egg
deal on the WF-34s and haven't looked back. Now I have a WB-14 set for stereo in the office listening - a great fit.

Cons: No comparison to classic large Klipsch products and I wouldn't pay anywhere near list for them - at that point better getting used classic Klipsch.

Other Thoughts: Great sounding and a great value (esp at NewEgg prices). I don't think I'd step below into the Synergy and/or Home Theater in a Box line.

Cabinetry woodwork etc is really nice - much nicer than others in this price range (such as Polk)
