2 out of 5 eggsCord is weak / prone to failure

Pros: Great sound quality. Ease of use.

Cons: About 2 years ago I installed one of these in each of my two vehicles, then 2 more for friends after they saw how well it worked. Of the 4 that I've installed, 3 have had the iPod plug go bad. I replaced 2 of the bad cords (expensive) only to have both of the replacements fail as well. The only one of the cords that has not failed is the one that does not get disconnected very often. So, based on my experience, if you will be using it with an iphone and connecting /disconnecting it frequently there is close to a 100% chance the cord will fail within a year.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for 7 months

Pros: Clean audio over FM signal. Easy install.

Cons: Started having charging problems after about 7 months, alternating on and off, which gets pretty annoying. I still have clear audio though, and will probably just switch it over to the headphone jack.

Other Thoughts: No help from iSimple customer service.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks as Advertised, but....

Pros: Works as advertised. A very nice addition to my 1970 MGB.

Cons: A very sloppy arrangement. It looks like it was designed by committee . Wires everywhere...comming out both ends of the module. It took me quite a while to get it installed without just stuffing a rats nest of wires up under the dash.
The ipad/iPhone plug is rediculously large and had to be filed down so it would fit onto my iPhone 4 with the minimalist of cases (Apple bumper) It doesn't have to be that way. iSimple should make a modern i plug that would fit well.

5 out of 5 eggsI love this

Pros: The sound quality is super. I'm using this in a Grand Cherokee and needed the antenna converters. NOT a con, just a fact of life. Easy installation and what feels like high quality construction. As far as I can see there is no reduction of my antenna signal when the unit is switched off.

Cons: Only one small one. The Ipod connector is a little fat and can't be used when the Ipod is in my arm strap. Maybe because it is a Nano and really small. Not enough of a problem to be called a con.

Other Thoughts: Buy it you will like it. The usual fast newegg shipping and information.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked well for a year

Pros: Better quality than your typical FM Transmitter, relatively easy to install with minimal knowledge on the car itself.

Cons: Certain songs with too much low-end would drop the sound quality and volume drastically after 3-4 seconds of play, Crackles and static from the radio over-power the music in certain areas at loud volumes, No longer charges any device after 1 year of use (although still plays audio) and the cable seems to jiggle when plugged in.

Other Thoughts: Worth it for the money without having to do any major alterations to the car itself. Worked well for a year with only minor annoyances such as the static occasionally and low-end volume loss, but was still better than carrying around a bundle of CD's or shelling out the money for an aftermarket audio player and installation. In New York, using an FM Transmitter is not worth it, and this was the next best thing.

3 out of 5 eggsmeh...

Pros: --Can use my iPhone with my OEM stereo
--Charges iPhone
--Strong signal / sound quality
--Easy to install

Cons: Will over power most / all other stations when the unit is on. Must be switched off. Even with the unit off, sometimes I get a bunch of interference when plugging in my phone to charge it. Other times, I turn the unit off, I still get interference until I turn it on then off again.

Other Thoughts: May require antenna adapters for both incoming / outgoing side of the unit.

One of the better solutions on GM vehicles that have no AUX input and that have all the vehicle messages displayed through the stereo. Still kind of a pain though.

4 out of 5 eggsSomething to buy

Pros: Almost completely static free music. Static heard is rare and appears unrelated to interference from over the air broad casts. Have traveled from suburbs into downtown Chicago and back many times without any interference. iPod connection well engineered (clasp instead of straight plug-in and long enough to accommodate case). Very clean: one cable.

Cons: Other reviewers correct about audio level but still plenty loud enough. Power switch is larger than 1/2" in diameter requiring either a larger than common drill bit or a cutting tool to create a mounting hole large enough for the switch (required trip to the hardware store for a Dremel bit to widen out the hole).

Other Thoughts: Installed in 2003 Acura CL with stock stereo/6 cd player in about 3 hours.

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: Lets you keep your factory radio.

Cons: Not something the average user can install.

Other Thoughts: i installed this the other day on my 2003 nissan 350z, all i can say is if your having any doubts about this product don't, and just order it now! you will not be disappointed!!! the install took me about a hour and was pretty easy however if you don't think you could do something like this then i would strongly encourage you to bring it to a shop.
