Pros: Very high gain, Can be used w/o an amplifier if coax runs are reasonable. Comes in three sections. If 2 sections provide enough gain, the 3rd section can be eliminated and the array will not be so directive.

Cons: Fragile. Elements bend easily

5 out of 5 eggsartistic & technical success

Pros: Works incredibly well. Competitive price, for what it is.

Looks absolutely amazing suspended from our living room ceiling. Many people think it's a Calder-esque mobile or something like that, and they are fascinated by its weird asymmetries. When they know what it is (a UHF antenna), they tend to be even more fascinated by its weird asymmetries.

Cons: Must wear gloves during assembly; some pieces are sharp. The assembly instructions are all-but-incomprehensible. The picture of the assembled unit is essential to knowing what to do, and possibly even sufficient. I had to puzzle over it for a few minutes before getting it right. The packaging looks terrible and is flimsy. But who cares? None of this has anything to do with why I bought it.

Other Thoughts: Very, very directional. Maybe five degrees (or less) of wiggle-room in the aiming of it.

I wonder why Newegg doesn't offer Antenna Direct's full line of accessories? Their rotor and amplifier products look pretty nice on their website.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Antenna

Pros: I'm deep in the mountians, about 85-90 miles from a mid size city and get 14 channels like it was hooked up to cable. Very Happy with it.

Cons: ugly & horrible directions, but there is a picture on the box of the completed product, that's all any guy needs for directions anyway

4 out of 5 eggsMixed feelings

Pros: Smaller profile than other antennas. Performance is very good, but extremely directional. I'm able to pick up HDTV digital signals at 80-90%. Was at about 30-40% with my old antenna. I can pick up both VHF and UHF when my pre-amp is hooked up.

Cons: Box was likely opened during shipping (staples came loose). Could be packaged a little better. Only has one mounting bracket for the pole. I had to fabricate an upper mount to put this in the way I _really_ wanted.

Other Thoughts: Use RG-6 and limit the cable run from the antenna if possible for better performance. I paired with a pre-amp for even better signal strength and to distribute to my entire house. Sure beats paying for TV service. I believe this will hold up better in the wind than my old antenna (which lasted 6 years), but only time will tell. Could get cheaper elsewhere, but hey... Newegg has always been trouble free for me!

5 out of 5 eggsA Very Good UHF Antenna

Pros: Contrary to some reviews, this is an excellent antenna for fringe to deep fringe reception. I'm getting digital channels 90 miles away in the mountains!
Read the many positive reviews on the internet. I won't repeat.

Cons: It is big (length) but luckily it isn't that heavy.
Very directional. You may need a rotator unless all stations are in the same direction.

Other Thoughts: A preamp mounted with the antenna is always a good thing especially for long distance reception. The Channel Master 777 is the best!
