With three inputs including one from CATV and two from Channel Plus 5400, 5500, or SVM series modulators in combination with outputs to eight televisions, the Channel Plus DA-550HHR distribution amplifier is the heart of a multi-room distribution system. The Channel Plus DA-550HHR amplifier can handle an extremely wide range of input signals from NTSC and digital TV and offers the highest headroom of any coax panel available in the market.
As an added benefit, the Channel Plus DA-550HHR amplifier offers optional IR control of connected video sources and whole house IR integration with a built-in 12-volt IR engine, providing maximum convenience and flexibility.
The Top Video Distribution Solution Short of Blonder Tongue
Pros: Eight (75 Ohm) RF outputs, allows up to four IR targets and 2100A wall outlets for remote operation of other video equipment from various rooms, very small cool heatsink case design, 12 V operation, can be powered by a 12 V modulator such as the 5554 I also use. Excellent signal control for ATSC and NTSC (Digital and Analog). Accepts two modulator (75 Ohm) RF inputs and an antenna (75 Ohm) RF input (Cable or Off-Air). Delivers flawless video using RG-6 cables assembled with newer compression fittings. Cables can be up to 150' in length and still give the same performance found on shorter cables. This unit has zero problem with high band UHF signal loss, which means Digital channels found on the Off-Air Analog frequencies 50-69 maintain excellent gain.
Cons: Runs slightly warm despite heatsink design, but this is really no problem. Unused terminals should be terminated with blocking capacitors and 75-Ohm terminators. Where a 2100A wall plate has not been used, a blocking capacitor should be installed before any connected receiver to prevent ampifier damage. Channel Plus recommends using only 15 V power units such as the 300-600 Mw units they offer. Careful wiring care must be taken.
Other Thoughts: Works with up to eight additional units for 64 balanced outlets. Great for homes or business use. Small size and includedmounting brackets make for easy installation whether mounted or not. 600 Mw power supply needed if multiple 2100A wall plates are used. Power of the system works best also using the 2010 power wall plate. Works as a zero loss splitter - as stated. Modulator input will require attenuation with a blocking capacitor if attenuation is used.
