The Valor DTS-603W DVD receiver offers everything you need to enjoy movies and music in your car, including all the inputs and outputs necessary to build a multimedia system.
The 6.5" color touchscreen displays your movies and music menus, as well as images from an optional rear view camera. The DTS-603W also plays your MP3 and WMA files on both CD and DVD, while an included cable allows you to connect your iPod and control your music files from the touchscreen.
You'll find front, rear, and subwoofer preamp outputs for adding external amplifiers to put more power in your music. You can add a game console or other video source to the A/V input, or add monitors to the two video outputs to keep backseat passengers entertained.

price vs. performance
- Pros: I bought this deck from newegg for $200 hoping it would be nice to have a touch screen deck to go along with the rest of my car since i am a car audio enthusiast. I would have never have guess how great the sound was! I had never heard or seen a valor product other than seeing it on the internet. It sounds better than my pioneer deck! The Dedicated subwoofer out means i can turn bass from my sub up while my speaker bass is low so the speakers dont distort, that problem is quite common among car audio systems. The screen itsself is good but could be better. Not as sensitive as the Iphone's thouch screen so i find myself hitting the icons 2 or 3 times because I am not used to it. oh and by the way this deck WORKS WITH AN IPHONE! yes it works with an iphone however it will not charge your iphone. works with an ipod wonderfully and will charge it. will play video through ipod (havent tested iphone video yet)
- Cons: The sound dial is ,well, fine but the software for it is strange, while in radio mode i can listen to the radio and adjust the volume just fine, but if you go to the menu the sound nob if turned like turning the volume up or down will cycle through the icons, defeating the purpose of me touching the icons. I would rather be able to control the volume of my music will doing another thing on the deck and instead of that. But its just a minor annoyance
- Other Thoughts: For even up to $300 i think this deck is totally worth it. hooking it up was a breeze, under 10min for me but i have tons of experience with my car (i've taken it apart before) by a wire adapter for your car and should be set, wires come prespliced, ipod cable included. ipod cable is very lengthy so you can run it to glove box, maybe a center console even. Cant watch vidoes or movies on the go due to parking wire, however just connect the parking wire to your bare metal chassie and should enable you to watch on the go. BE AWARE that could be agaisnt local/state laws. All in all buy this deck, worth every penny! I would and will buy again for another car.

- Cons: Does not fit in a 1999 explorer without modifying the dash and the metal sleeve that locks in. Took quite awhile to make the modifications to make it work in my vehicle.

You Get Your Bang For The Buck !

- Pros: Nice big screen with great video quality, the sound quality isn't bad either...It's no wonder this unit sold out as fast as it did. Lots of great features and comes with everything you need for installation (cables, wires, brackets, and even the ipod adapter cable too). You may require a wiring harness if you are a novice at installing this unit like I was, you can usually get them cheap (around $10.00) at any auto parts store.
Bottom line: I really love this touch screen unit and recommend it, hopefully Newegg will offer this item again soon to those who missed out.
- Cons: Manual is very vague and does not cover everthing as thoroughly as I expected.
It does have a really annoying feature that will disable you from exchanging or playing dvds while driving which Valor says is for "safety reasons" but you can easily disable that by wiring the parking brake wire to another ground wire.
- Other Thoughts: My 2002 Ford F150 had a stock 1.5 din and a major conversion had to be made in order to fit this double din monster in the dash. But after many hours of dremel work and modifications I got this beast in and I must say it came out perfect...this is the first and last time I will ever attempt a project of this magnitude, lol. No wonder most car stereo installers would charge up to $400.00 for this conversion. So to all of you F150 owners you may want to do some serious research before you buy this one.
