No Need for Receivers

The 602 is targeted at home theater users looking to add a pair of high quality speakers without the hassle and expense of an external A/V receiver. The 602 is designed with simplicity in mind and is ready to use straight out of the box with most HDTVs, DVD players, gaming consoles, karaoke and more. It contains a built-in amplifier and connects to most HDTVs via RCA audio jacks. No more external A/V receivers!

Incredible Sound Designed for You

Much of the effort in designing the 602 went towards smoothing out unwanted distortions and widening the frequency response to deliver near full spectrum sound. The 602 uses trusted technologies such as: premium woofer and tweeter cone materials for deep lows and crystal highs, and a precisely shaped wooden cabinet to absorb unwanted vibrations. The 602 delivers a great aural experience that is easy to use for any consumer.

2 out of 5 eggsNice While They Lasted

Pros: The Speakers weren't very loud but they were solid while they lasted. Lows were good and highs were good. Nothing crazy but they did the job well.

Cons: They stopped working after about 4 weeks. Eagle Tech's customer service is garbage. I've now submitted 3 Tickets and have yet to get any sort of response. They still have warranty but what good is a warranty if you can never contact the manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: NONE

Cons: No way are they putting out 100 RMS! And they are dead after 5 months, when I turn it on it just makes a noise but does nothing! Not worth my time or money to send back for Warranty

1 out of 5 eggsRemote Control Dead On Arrival, and battery compartment didn't open.

Pros: Attractive to look at, sound quality is good. I was able to find the web site and talk to customer support and tech support (but other than informing me that the unit does not have codes that will work on a universal remote, they were of no help.). The web site worked well to get an RMA. which is in progress, but because of the high shipping cost, I'm only shipping the damaged remote control, so we'll see what happens..

Cons: Remote control was dead on arrival, but that was just the beginning. When attempting to replace the battery, the battery compartment didn't pull out and the control was badly damaged when I tried to open the battery compartment with pliers. I did get to talk to technical support and when I requested the code that I could use for a universal remote, I was told that they don't have a code that will work on a universal remote at this time. There is only a 30 day replacement policy which you pay one way shipping on, and no return policy.

Other Thoughts: I bought this with the idea that I would be able to quickly hook this up to my TV without a receiver. The first problem was my fault because I didn't check to find out that the TV I bought the speakers for has only a Digital Optical Audio connection and not RCA connectors. But I hooked this up to an older TV and it worked well except for the remote control issue, and of course was unable to mute during commercials.

3 out of 5 eggsMediocre sound

Pros: At 25" height they will fit behind a LED TV in a cabinet.

Cons: The 3" speaker and tweeter produce a thin, metallic sound and the woofers can be boomy if cranked to high.

Other Thoughts: Overall sound is barely acceptable. Computer speakers in this price range are considerably better sounding. The remote is short-range and ineffective of course if the speakers are not line-of-sight. I kept them because they fit right into a babinet behind a Vizio TV I bought here and the volume can b controlled through the TV volume because of the variable audio output. Certainly better sounding than TV speakers.

4 out of 5 eggsEagle Tech ET-AR 602R-BK Speakers

Pros: Perfect for the purpose that I bought them for relatively cheap at the price I paid 99.00 my parents are getting hard of hearing so I bought 2 sets for them and added the speaker sets to the 2 tv's they have it used to be really loud at their house and you could not carry on a conversation.
I went and bought 2 wireless audio systems for 49.00 each and put the speakers behind the couch close to where they sit, no wires needed because of the wireless units. now it is pleasant visiting with them.

Cons: because the new wide screen tv's do not have a built in amp for external speakers your volume control does not affect the volume of the speakers. so you have to take the time to adjust the volume on the speakers for a minimum type volume and then use your tv controller to add to the volume as needed.

5 out of 5 eggsWow sound for the price and then some

Pros: Great sound,I mean really good from what I expected, small enough to be put away, large enough to be heard ( for home, office, small parties.

Cons: none for right at $100.

Other Thoughts: I do a lot of sound and lighting installs inside and out and build a lot of custom enclosures so I buy speaker enclosures and such and shred them for the speakers themselves if I don't like them to use in my custom enclosures. These sound great how they are and are meant for Karaoke so My college daughter will be getting these for her dorm so she could have Karaoke night with her little Karaoke machine, they loved them and played music after and many people asked about the speakers due to their size and sound. They will not fill a lecture hall but they do fill a dorm fun area well!

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: These speakers provide good value for the money, subwoofer is built into the cabinet, and sound is pretty decent.

Cons: The speakers are really quite large, so for a computer setup, you want to make sure you have adequate room. There is some distortion at the highest volume settings at the low end

Other Thoughts: I purchased these to use as music speakers for the computer in one of the main living areas in the house when my nice Harmon Kardon setup crapped out. These speakers aren't as accurate, and do not seem to have the same dynamic range, but for the money, they sound good.
