Every element of the compact and powerful Dynamo 300, from driver to amplifier to crossover to cabinet, is meticulously designed and manufactured to deliver a staggering low-frequency performance - bass extension, power, and detail - at an extremely affordable price. Perfect for either home theater or stereo applications, the Dynamo 300 is built with high-density materials to minimize cabinet resonance and provide a solid foundation for the high-output 8-inch woofer and high-current 75-watt, 150-watt peak amplifier. Whether you are looking for high performance bass to enhance your music experience or take your home theater system to the next level, a new Dynamo family subwoofer should be at the top of your list.

  • newegg 8-Inch Low-Distortion Woofer Dynamo 300's high-resolution driver combines an 8-inch polypropylene cone with a high-intensity magnet structure to achieve huge excursion and output capability without sacrificing detail. By eliminating cone flexure, even at long voice-coil excursions, Dynamo 300's advanced-technology bass driver achieves the very low distortion necessary for proper blending with MartinLogan FoldedMotion and electrostatic speakers.
  • newegg 75-watt (150-watt peak) Amplifier Dynamo 300's amplifier belongs to a recently-developed class of switch-mode designs that incorporate a variety of innovative techniques to reduce noise, distortion, and heat to the lowest possible levels. In particular, the switching frequency is much higher than in typical subwoofer amplifiers of this type, providing a tremendous true 75 watts continuously with extremely low distortion.
  • newegg Low-Turbulence Ports Ports are a convenient and cost-effective way of increasing low-frequency output. Dynamo 300's low-turbulence port is carefully designed to provide superb low-end efficiency while minimizing port induced distortion.
  • newegg High-Density Cabinet Construction Dynamo 300's high-density cabinet is carefully designed to minimize cabinet-induced resonances and provide an ideal baffle for linear operation of Dynamo 300's long-excursion 8-inch low-distortion woofer.
  • newegg Seamless System Integration: Engineered for Stereo and Home Theater Dynamo 300's connections and controls are designed to enable easy, seamless integration with any stereo music or multi-channel home theater system. Its main left and right line-level inputs feed into a precision low-pass filter with a cutoff frequency variable from 45 to 150Hz. For systems in which a surround processor supplies the crossover, Dynamo 300 provides an LFE input low-pass filter that completely bypasses its internal filters.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great and puts out terrific sound. Being bottom firing & bottom-ported, this thing sounds terrific when placed in the corner. The bass is projected around the room MUCH better this way, and sounds much more full to me. It's not a basshead's ideal subwoofer, but it definitely has enough oomph to shake my place up during explosions.
It's only an 8" sub. The reason I wanted an 8 instead of something larger is because the larger subs tend to sound a little more boomy. Sure, I lose out on the low-end extension... But with two 8" subs I can get plenty of "hit", and I don't have to worry about it being too boomy or sloppy. The bass is nice and tight.
I was originally looking to get a REL to go with my home theater system, but after hearing about these and their sale, I had to jump on em. Would rather a pair of 8's than a 10 anyways.

Cons: lowest-end extension is a little vague. These puppies can play pretty low and make it sound right if they're corner-loaded and properly broken in. Still, not as low as some of the other 8's in the audio industry(which generally cost much more)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Sub especially at the sale price!

Pros: Easy set up, Great customer service and support in helping with placement, sounds great after the 50 hour break in, would buy again <Got in on the last 79 buck sale with free shipping>.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Be patient and once the 50 hour break in is done and settings are right the sound is increadable and not boomy unless you want it to be. Friend who is an audiophile was amazed at how good this was especially for an 8" Sub, thought I bought a bigger one until I told and showed him.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Powerful 8inch sub
Extremely good for the price
Wood finish is very nice and matches my pioneer desktop set
Accurate bass extension has a clean hit to 30hz
Low profile look, blends in well.

Cons: Bigger than I expected ( not really a con)
Can't turn music up at night anymore, goes right through the walls lol..

Other Thoughts: Wish I had the receiver/ sound card to compliment it more. Works right out of the box and sounds great with no distortion at initial setup. Crossover with the pioneer is clean. Still waiting to see if the burn in make them more silky like others said.
Got this at $80 sale

5 out of 5 eggsactually sounds great after breaking in

Pros: This sub sounds great after breaking in. At first it sounded horrible but after several hours this sub will break in and sound absolutely amazing. It does get pretty low for an eight inch sub I can hear it all the way down to 14 HZ with the audio generator app I downloaded on my iPhone. This sub blends in perfectly with any speakers and is very musical!

Cons: Appears to Have the Same amp as the Pioneer SW-8 which is also a great sounding sub.

Other Thoughts: For the money I would recommend this Dynamo sub over the Polk PSW10. It only cost $20 more, or if you don't have the funds go with the Pioneer SW-8. It's cheaper than the Polk Audio PSW10 and sounds better! The Polk Audio PSW110 is a very nice sounding sub if you want a Polk Audio Sub.

4 out of 5 eggsnot as powerfull as I expected

Pros: This is a nice looking sub, although it lacks the punch, higher frequencies this sub completely misses even with the crossover set at 150. The Pioneer SW8 sounds better and cost much less. I'll give this one away just like I gave away my Polk PSW10... Ohh well

Cons: This sub appears to use the same amplifier as the Pioneer SW8 which is much cheaper and better sounding.

Other Thoughts: My favorite sub is the Polk Audio PSW110 everything about it just sounds right.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little sub... WOW

Pros: Price, Size, Frequency response, Power, Quality

Cons: Phase switch that only allows 0 or 180 degrees. A knob with some options for in between would be nice.

Other Thoughts: First a little background on my situation... I had a little Sony HTIB that I used for years. It had a nice little 6.5" sub that was powered by the HTIB amp. Well it stopped working and there I was with some good surround speakers/sub but nothing to power them with. I was able to scrounge up an old Pioneer receiver that my dad wasn't using, but of course most receivers do not power the sub, so despite being happy with the sub I had I was forced to buy a new one...

I was looking for something affordable, small so that the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) would be good, and down firing. (My old front firing sub caused some serious rattling in the entertainment center and the only thing that made it stop was to turn it so it was up firing). So I really wasn't looking for something amazing, just any old sub that would pick up where my little satellite speakers roll off. Enter the ML Dynamo 300!

Right out of the box I was impressed with the build quality. The box feels sturdy and solid. I wasn't going to be able to set it up for a few days, but wanted to make sure it was working alright and not DOA. So I got some cables and plugged my phone into it. Ran a few songs with good bass lines that I was familiar with. All sounded clean, tight and musical. Then I switched over to the frequency generator app on my phone. I wasn't expecting it to go too deep because of it only being an 8" and rated down to 32 Hz but boy was I surprised! This thing is fairly powerful all the way down to about 25 Hz and rolls off quite badly at 23 Hz. Not bad for a little guy! And even at 23 Hz the sub was still working hard and moving plenty of air, just wasn't that audible. I probably should have moved a few feet away from it to be able to hear, but I didn't think of it at the time...

A few days later after getting it all hooked up the wonderment just keeps on coming. All these years I thought that I had a decent sub and was doing fine. This thing makes my old 6.5" Sony look pathetic. It can get all the walls and ceiling rattling if I want it to. I had no idea what I'd been missing all this time. I started watching movies that I was familiar with and skipping to scenes I knew had good bass, and every scene left me amazed at what I had been missing. This thing gets so much lower and more powerful! Huge improvement over what I had!

I can't really compare it to anything else but what I've owned, and I'm sure there are subs out there that will put this to shame also. But for the price that I paid for it, I can't imagine a better sub. I can see myself buying a second one when the basement gets finished and the home theater moves down there, but only because the area will be larger. I think it will be extremely hard to beat the value for money on this baby.

If you're setting up your first home theater or upgrading from a HTIB like I did, I highly recommend this sub. If you're used to million watt 18" subs maybe this won't blow your skirt up, but it sure did mine.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I just bought this sub to use in my bedroom with an Energy Take 5 system and a Yamaha V373 receiver. After watching a movie, and playing several different genres of music, I have decided that this sub was exactly what I wanted. At only half volume, this sub provides a noticeable, very crisp and clean bass sound. I could not be happier with it for the price that I paid. It won't shake your pictures off the wall, but if you're looking for a quality accurate sub that won't overpower your system and enrage the people you live with, this sub is for you.

Cons: This sub did not come with a subwoofer cable to attach it to the receiver. Luckily I had one.

Other Thoughts: For the money, this sub produces a fantastically clear, quality sound that compliments my bedroom system nicely.

5 out of 5 eggswhat a deal!

Pros: First of all 25.4cm is not 8" but 10" new egg your editors always make similar mistakes, maybe educating them on metric system is a good idea. Secondly Martinlogan is one word not two.

Cons: at this price point- none. buy it! I`ve got 2.

5 out of 5 eggsMartin Logan Dynamo 300

Pros: The subwoofer does exactly what I expected and more. I purchased a pair of Motion 10's about 3 months ago right after they were replaced by the Motion 20's. Once they were broken in they sounded great for home theater and good for stereo listening. The midrange on the Motion 10's were lacking and the lows as well. So in the hopes of finding some way to get a more complete or uniform sound I purchased the Dynamo 300 which was on sale how wrong can I go. Wow what a pleasant and satisfying surprise the speaker integrates perfectly with the Motion 10's and has tight, solid, bass yet sounds totally natural or as close to a live performance as possible. I purchased all the most affordable equipment from Martin and Logan and can just imagine what a pair of Motifs sound like. Although for my living space in a New York City apartment these are more than enough at a fraction of the cost. Newegg also did a great job of delivering the product emailing me the tracking information and great customer service.

Cons: At this price point none

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend Newegg in that they have great products, customer service , and timely delivery.
