MartinLogan Motion 10 Stereo or Home Theater Front/Surround Speaker Each

Pros: Very clear and detailed highs and mids. Lows are respectable for a speaker of this size/volume. The speakers are well built and surprisingly solid and hefty for their diminutive size. The push-in cable receptacles are very convenient and their buttons are generously shaped. At about 850-1000/pair I'd say they're respectable performers; at 200/pair they're outstanding.

Cons: I should have bought more than two units! Now they're gone! :(

Other Thoughts: Speakers need a beefy amplifier, or a receiver that outputs high current. Efficiency is about average. I can see why they didn't sell so quickly at full retail because this size, price-point, and type of speaker (bass reflex) is unusual for ML; I guess they were perceived as kind of an odd ball offering so people didn't know what to make of them.

If it's important my background in audio is in the high, high-end but I love all audio products and these things are surprisingly good. They take me back to the 80's and 90's when there was such a thing as "mid-fi" and you could get great sound without having to spend a whole ton of money.

Pros: Attaching the MLT-2 with the Motion 10 just makes the system turn into a powerhouse at the price range. Nothing will compete with it if you can get it all for $500. The mid/highs are out of this world when you play classical music. Don't expect much bass, these are catered to people who aren't bass heavy. Get a more powerful subwoofer if you want to hear some thumping.

Cons: For $100-$120 each, there's nothing that can beat it.

Pros: Great packing. Quick delivery. Good quality. Decent sound.
Sounds a lot better than they look, but on other hand, they do look good. And they will sound better after break in period.

Cons: Not bi-amp-able, bi wire-able. Folded ribbon tweeter deserves separate wiring.

Other Thoughts: Added 10" sub for fuller sound and proper bass. If they would be bi-wire-able, then with a sub-woofer all frequencies would be covered much better.

Pros: People, who expect a speaker to perform flawlessly straight out of the box are... well, not very bright. It IS a great speaker , just give it some time and it will shine. 50 hours should do it. The sound will change drastically. Nice finish, looks and feels expensive. The feet, however, could be better. But I'd rather have an excellent sounding speaker with ugly feet than a lame one with feet made of ebony.

Cons: Not bi-ampable.

Pros: Nothing.... NOTHING in double the price range can touch these Logans. Very musical. The clarity is amazing for a speaker in this price category. At 120 a piece we are robbing Newegg.

Other Thoughts: At first there were no lows, but after 20-30 hours of use they started to open up. Do use the spikes for a tighter bass. Disregard the specs, the bass is there , just feed them with decent amplification and burn them in properly.

Pros: These arrived about 3 weeks ago, ordered on a Monday and had them in house hooked up by Wednesday night.

Let them break in for a few days by playing a test file from my computer to DAC to Amp. Now playing SACD, DVD-A, Blu-Ray, and Vinyl through them, and for the price and brand (That's the key here) they are outstanding. I own or have owned Polk, Bose, Pioneer, Energy, and Kefs. These are the best sounding speakers I have in my house.

I like the use of magnets for removing the grills. I leave mine off, except for the top tweeter part.

Cons: Nothing too bad, the plastic bottom are lame, but why pay an extra $200 to have wood legs? The rest of the cabinet is nice wood.

You need a sub with them. That's not really a con, because most speakers nowadays you do need a subwoofer.

Pros: I'm happy overall. I like the looks of it. They look better in person. The height is perfect, not as tall as my Polk monitor 70. I played all type of music and BR movies with 2 channel setup and they sound great. Everyone are right about the clarity of the sound. It has some good bass to it also. I like how the grill (speaker cover) are magnetic. I got them for 120 each so I think its a very good deal!! Buy now before they sold out.

Cons: Nothing so far. I love them.

Pros: I already own a pair of these fine loudspeakers that I absolutely love. I wanted to purchase a matching center channel speaker to go along with these but didn't want to pay the high price tag. That's why I came here to purchase one more Motion 10 speaker. These not only sound great in stereo but also make for an excellent center speaker. Now my home theaters front end is completely matched and sounds seamless. I couldn't be happier.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: If you want exceptional loudspeakers and can't afford audiophile prices, get a pair of these before they're gone. I can't stress enough on how good they sound. Smooth, detailed highs, natural mids, and surprising bass..

Pros: Amazing price for amazing speakers, such clear precise sound you will think you are in the movie. I've been listening to surround sound for about 5 years now and when i hooked these things up, there was a night and day difference! You will find yourself looking around for a car honking outside your house, the sounds are that real!

Cons: They are not impressive looking, cheap plastic stand. Very small for floor speakers. Not much bass. power hungry.

Other Thoughts: Dont kid yourself, these are not full range speakers, you NEED A SUBWOOFER. Pairing these speakers with a good subwoofer (configured correctly) will blow your mind. I bought these for the amazingly clear sound reproduction knowing fully well that the bass would be virtually non existent...the other thing you should keep in mind is that these speakers are extremely power hungry! I wouldn't use any receiver under 100w / channel. Break in these speakers for at least a week or so, they literally come alive after they have been broken in, these are about 1/3 the weight of my old floors with no active or passive sub, but when you feed these babies volume they dwarf other speakers 2x their size in sheer sound clarity. and whats what we are going for isnt it? CLARITY? If you dont know how to tune your speakers already read the manual for your receiver and get familiar because that will make the difference between blowing your mind and possibly returning them.

Pros: Wide Sound Stage for Movies and HDTV in stereo mode. High SPL and easy amp load from a 10 year old Denon 5 chl amp. The price from Newegg was insane.

Cons: Speech sounded much better in stereo mode from my cable box with HD content the the 3 channel mode I had ( no sorrounds). I would have to buy the center see what differences there are.

Other Thoughts: Small stand up speakers with a folded tweeter are rare at this price. Martin Logan maybe is trying to expand their market by offering a high end product at a low cost.
