Inspired by MartinLogan's high-end electrostatic loudspeakers, the Motion Series was created to provide stunning sound for your ultimate-performance home theater or stereo. MartinLogan's dedicated in-house engineers carefully crafted the Motion Series to create an extremely affordable and compact product line that seamlessly blends their exquisite Folded Motion transducers with powerful, compact bass technology. The result is a smooth, refined sound with stunning dynamic range and jaw-dropping clarity.

Focusing on clarity and detail as MartinLogan's other high-end electrostatic loudspeakers, Motion 10 features an exquisite Folded Motion tweeter and powerful bass technology in a compact and affordable package. Key to Motion 10’s performance is the lightning fast response of the tweeter’s light-weight diaphragm combined with a large surface area (8-times that of a typical one-inch dome tweeter) which together achieve a smooth, refined sound with stunning dynamic range and jaw-dropping clarity - certain to inspire envy in audiophiles and non-audiophiles alike.

  • newegg Stylish Design Featuring real black ash wood veneer and a stylish aesthetic, the Motion 10 speakers can complement any house decoration and add style to your home speaker system.
  • newegg Folded Motion Tweeter The Folded Motion Tweeter works by moving air (which creates sound) perpendicular to the folded ridges of the diaphragm, similar to how an accordion works. This extremely low mass diaphragm "squeezes" air and requires almost 90% less excursion than the typical 1" dome tweeter, which drastically minimizes distortion while providing a lightning fast response time. The increased surface area also provides a wide, yet controlled sound dispersion to create a realistic and carefully etched sound stage.
  • newegg Premium Components Featuring dual 5.25-inch woofers, cast basket, paper cones doped for stability and damping, and rigid structure dust cap, precision Vojtko crossover with custom air core coil and low DCR steel laminate inductors, and polyester film and low DF electrolytic capacitors, the Motion 10 delivers clear, highly dynamic and precise sound.
  • newegg MiniETC Spikes Custom MiniETC spikes tighten bass and improve image coherency.
  • newegg Effortless Connection Convenient push-style binding posts take the frustration out of cable connection and easily adapt to accept banana plugs.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: Exceptional highs, smooth midrange and surprising bass.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I have to agree with "Dan" on the ridiculous so-called reviews on here about these speakers.. I was a little skeptical about purchasing them as well, but glad I did. For their size, they sound incredible. Of course, you have to let them run in before really experiencing their true nature. Natural, open, airy tweeters are astounding. The towers image extremely well because of them. Midrange is perfect without any coloration. Bass is surprisingly strong and deep considering the speakers are only rated down to 65hz. Of course, you'll need a subwoofer to experience the lowest lows. All in all, I couldn't be happier.

5 out of 5 eggsUneducated Reviewers Give Low Eggs

Pros: First of all, I got five of these speakers on sale for $400 less than half of MSRP. That's a pretty sweet deal. The speakers look great, don't take up much room (only 35" tall), and sound amazing (especially for the price). I can hear the highest of highs (glass shattering is great), and until my subwoofer gets here, some pretty good lows, too. Playing Red Dead Redemption, the rain and thunder sound great! Using one of these as a center, movies really come alive.

Cons: NONE. These speakers WERE NOT DESIGNED TO PRODUCE LOW BASS FREQUENCIES. STOP REVIEWING THESE BASED ON BASS RESPONSE. ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN KNOWS A SUBWOOFER IS REQUIRED TO GET GOOD BASS RESPONSE.

Other Thoughts: These should be selling out instantly any time Newegg advertises a new deal on them. It is ridiculous that people are giving these poor reviews based on their own lacking intellect. The specs sheet says what frequencies these speakers are capable of. If you purchased them expecting "expensive" speakers to eliminate the need for a subwoofer, you are certifiably prohibited from coming off as an educated reviewer. Anyone who buys these speakers for use in a PROPER sound system will be extremely pleased. If you're one of those people who is going to buy them, turn them on their sides, and then complain about the bass response, I'd suggest going and trying out a store brand from Best Buy... you probably won't know the difference anyway.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Speakers

Pros: Look EXPENSIVE.
Easy HOOKUP.
Thats about it.

Cons: Sound TINNY, just not enough BASS,.. Tried with 3 different receivers. Supposedly AUDIOPHILE grade? No way... they sound like large laptop speakers.. they have the volume but not any warmth to the imaging and enhance the mids too much. They are LOUD but fatigue my ears fast. Manual mention SEVENTY HOUR breakin but Im pretty sure these issues wont just go away..

Compared with Pioneer FS-SPK51-LR which were/are 1/2 the price, way better imaging. Even small POLK 1/4 price speakers had better quality warmer sound.

Im pretty sure they get high reviews only because of the BRAND and not necessarily the product itself.

Other Thoughts: These are cheap speakers.. but they suck.

3 out of 5 eggsRegular speakers. Nothing special

Pros: Speakers sound just OK.

Cons: Speakers looks ugly. Overpriced even for $200 each. Haven't noticed anything special about them. They sound just OK. I'll skip MartinLogan speakers next time.

4 out of 5 eggsMartinLogan, un-MartinLogan Price

Pros: MartinLogans, un-MartinLogan price. I bought these as rears in a 5.1 system with Motion 12 fronts and a Motion 8 center. Although I auditioned and broke them in a little first with an old 100w/ch 2.0 amp...to see what they've got. Despite being smaller and roughly 1/2 the weight of the 12's...these guys can still crank! My ears love the "Folded Motion" tweeter in dipole configuration -- sounds far more "real" than any traditional dome design, and images nicely. These guys also have great bass extension with the bottom-firing port... If used as primary speakers, these could easily do music by themselves, sans-sub. For theatre use, at least a modest sub will help solidify the bottom-end. Speaking of bottoms... The 10's "Spider-Type" base makes these towers very stable...especially compared to the tipsy Motion 12's.

Cons: Subtracted an Egg for being assembled in China. Sucks that even premium brands like ML have outsourced to the world's SweatShop :-(

Other Thoughts: Not having a dedicated midrange driver, the Motion 10's don't have quite the midrange definition of the 12's, or other fullrange towers I've heard. Not saying there's a "void," just that little details like (ie: a guitarist's fingers sliding up / down the strings) won't be as obvious. I'm using these as surrounds in a 5.1 system, so I'm not missing anything.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic speakers especially for the price

Pros: fantastic sound (make sure you hear these with your brand receiver first) clear highs, mids, lows sound clear but not strong. i use a powered sub

Cons: not bassier. YOu can't expect it from the size, but the bass it does put out is clear

Other Thoughts: i cant stress enough to break these in and hear them in store with your brand receiver. The 10's sounded better with my harman than the 12's did. But the 12's sounded better with a denon in the store than the10's.

3 out of 5 eggsOk but not sure they were worth what I paid

Pros: Space savers. Decent highs.

Cons: My center channel has more oomph than these. Terrible mids.

Other Thoughts: I got these for a good price and I suppose some would say that I shouldn't complain but they were not what I expected. Female voices sound great however male voices with a bit of bass sound awful. Maybe they will even out after some more use, at least that is what I am hoping.

5 out of 5 eggsMartin Logan Motion 10'2

Pros: After several days of listening to these motion 10's i had to report back and question all reviewers who stated these speaker don't produce bass.In my honest oppion I haven't heard quality bass like this from a speaker with only (2) 5.25 in drivers in it.I have auditioned Polks Monitors 40's and 50's and they did not seem to produce the deep mid bass/upper sub bass that these motion 10's do.I can honestly play music with them and enjoy enough bass as to not turn on the psw 505 12inch sub.My motion 10's are placed on hardwoods and still put down enough bass to run as fronts only...I give Martin Logan props for the engineering on these speakers as they produce wide imaging across my whole living room, accurate mids, and bass low enough to be enjoyable but not earth shaking like a sub.I think too many reviewers try to compare speakers in extremely different price ranges and then say that one doesn't even come close to the other. Is a Yugo a Porche??? NO!!! Polk monitor 70's are the only >>>>

Cons: other options in this price range and are still $140 more for the pair...These Martin's are a steal at this price range and again don't even listen to bad reviews they are BIAS Bologna....and to those who also state these speakers are to short and don't image high enough well I'm 5'11" and seated they sound absolutely awesome...First time Martin Logan buyer and I am completely satisfied...You can be too!!! Just Buy them already and give em time to break in....

Other Thoughts: With a speaker of this quality remember one thing ...JUNK in JUNK out...Playing the radio or mp3's on these is like fueling a dragster with Deisel Fuel!!! CD,DVD,Blu Ray must be auditioned on these speakers to truely get the real performance out of them...

4 out of 5 eggsMartin Logan Motion 10's 1st day review

Pros: These Motion 10's image incredibly, play Blu Ray Master audio so well I wanted to burn down my Klipsch Vf-36's that these replaced.Although the Klipsch horn sounded incredible it was very fatiquing over time. The Motion tweeter sounds just as good as a horn tweeker without the wear and tear on the ear drums. The 5.25 drivers are very accurate, the bullet dust cover controls the dispersion of sound very well, and for such a small speaker there is plenty of mid bass. After playing several audio formats in stereo mode I then moved on to 5.1.I immediately noticed that these speakers are a bit power hungry as my Polk CS1 and Polk T15 surrounds simply over powered them at even volume level. After volume level adjustment they blending well with my Polks but made the Polks sound muddy as the clarity, imaging, and over all sound quality destroys the Polks I own hands down.I turned on my PolK PSW 505 12 inch sub and ran 5.1 and I am dumdfounded as to how well my overall sound is.Buy these motion 10's!!

Cons: 4 ohm and a little power hungry compared to my Polks and Klipschs that I own.A little boxy sounding in the mid range but its only the first day I have owned them so they aren't broken in yet.

Other Thoughts: It really irritates me when other reviews knock a speaker about lacking bass when its rated to only go down to 65hz.These Motion 10's are all about clarity, imaging, and reproducing sound that is exactly the way it was recorded.Master audio (BLU-RAY) is the best i've heard on any speaker I have owned. These are a 300.00 speaker pair not 3 to 5 thousands so give me a break.Price to performance is unmatched to anything I've heard in this price range bar none...
