5 out of 5 eggsGreat mic

Pros: 1) Sounds great.
2)Picks up voices very clearly and accurately.
3)Don't need a pop filter unless you're basically kissing the mic and using at at 100% sensitivity.
4)Headphone jack and volume buttons so I can hear myself clearly and since I do not have a headphone amp I'm using the mic as a DAC (digital [to] analog converter) and I have to say I am not dissapointed but it could be better. If I had to use this as a DAC over my Fiio D03K Taishan (cheap solution for my situation and my computer audio headers cable is dead) I would be fine.
5) Effective DAC/amp (using 47ohm headphones, could possibly run 54 ish comfortably but don't take my word for it
6) 16 bit audio only gets so good. On a website someone listed that they didn't see a DAC in the mic and might not be able to play pre recorded sound. In a nutshell: Listen to music, watch movies etc.
7) Survived a drop or two... Oops.

Cons: 1) Not exactly something to bicker about but needs a shock mount if you have a plastic, glass or thin/cheap plywood desk or a chunk of rubber. I have mine with two/three feet on the stand the mic comes with on a second monitor. SPEAKING OF THE STAND! OW Unscrewing the mic from the stand can be iffy sometimes, it does come off but the plastic can be rough if you have dry hands or you tightened the mic to the stand too well...

Other Thoughts: I ordered my mic off of a popular website, am not allowed to list it, People seem to have a problem with these on Newegg. On said website, I've seen that not many people out of several hundreds are disappointing.
I AM AN AUDIOPHILE: Term can be over used so i'll say I love good sounding sounds... If that's politically correct.
Could be shipping, the handling of packages, unreliable retailer the mics are coming from (Audio Technica will rarely give you a effective product and in my opinion low quality and I have relatively high standards and am choosy of what I purchase.)

1 out of 5 eggsLook Cool! Not Working after 10 uses

Pros: Looks very nice, better than the samson one I got in terms of sound quality and look.

Cons: But!!!! It starts to break after 5 uses, first my Mac cannot recognize when it's plugged in, then I had to replug multiple times, after a few seconds the sound started to break and eventually not working at ALL!!!!

Other Thoughts: should have read the comments before purchase, please be aware, this is only for 1 time use

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible

Pros: It worked nice at first.

Cons: Stopped working properly and sent it in to be repaired. Got it sent back with no work done and said they couldnt repeat the problem. Plugged it back in, and 10 minutes later it was having the same problem.

They fixed nothing, and apparently didnt look too hard and fixing it.

Other Thoughts: Terrible build quality. Terrible "repair" center. I'm not paying shipping again just for them to say "well, we dont see a problem" again.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Mic... while it lasts

Pros: Great sound for a low price. USB is super easy to use on any computer.

Cons: Stopped working after 3 months of light use. Also, USB is loose on bottom of mic.

Other Thoughts: I got this mic 3 months ago at a brick and mortar store. It worked great with no problems at all for skype and video recording. Yesterday, it stopped working properly. Now it just records loud static. I emailed Audio Technica support, so we'll see how their customer service is.

4 out of 5 eggsEhh.

Pros: It's really simple to use. Just plug in and use.

Cons: Too simple. No software and the only way to change any settings is within the OS's sound manager.

1 out of 5 eggsHas a major flaw

Pros: Solid construction, looks nice and professional

Cons: I won't nitpick a microphone in this price range, but there is one crippling flaw that makes this product one you should absolutely avoid:

This microphone has a HORRIBLE problem with sibilance (lisping). I'm a 26-year-old male with a rich voice that projects and a knack for enunciation. I speak more clearly than anyone I know, and this thing made me sound like a dopey sixteen-year-old with a glue habit. Changing pop filters didn't help, adjusting pitch, angle and distance didn't help, and I even tried covering it with a sock before I realized what a "thtupid" idea that was.

It's a real shame too, because aside from that one major problem, it's actually a decent-sounding microphone for the price.

Other Thoughts: Thally thells theeshells by the theeshore. Ith it thinking in yet?

Don't buy this microphone.
