GPI Ledplux 7 Watt A19 OMNI LED Light Bulb Warm White 3000K - UL Listed

Pros: Excellent LED bulb made in Taiwan. Satisfactorily replaced a 60W incandescent. In fact, it looks even better.

Cons: NOT dimmable

Other Thoughts: Would buy again.

Pros: The bulbs have very clean looking light.

Cons: I purchased these bulbs because the I wanted to switch to lower watt LED's but I needed bulbs that were dimmable. When I saw the listing for "GPI Ledplux 7W A19 OMNI Dimmable LED Light Bulb" and saw they were on sale I figured why not. My main reason for getting theses bulbs was because it was listed as dimmable. Guess what, when I got the bulbs there was a stamp the box next to the word dimmable that said NO. I am completely confused and disappointed.

Other Thoughts: NOT DIMMABLE

Pros: No mercury, full brightness, low energy usage. Great for a nightlight, whether outside or inside while gone for vacation.

Cons: Not bright enough to comfortably read by. I am still not comfortable with the white light but then I have had it less than a month.

Other Thoughts: The metal fins below the bulb are for heat dissipation. For a low energy bulb, they create enough heat to make it uncomfortable to hold immediately after use. I wonder if reading by the light from these bulbs will prove bad for the eyes.

Pros: Warm, natural light, great light dispersion.

Cons: Regular price is still a bit steep.

Other Thoughts: If these every get below $7 for a regular price, the planet will never see a mercury laden CFL again. I've purchased both the 5000K and 3000K versions of these bulbs. I love the 5000K, my wife prefers yellow light, so these fit the bill quite nicely. I've replaced several 13W CFLs with these, and do not notice any less light.

Pros: It may be more expensive than a CFL but it actually comes on full brightness as soon as you turn it on and it contains no mercury.

Cons: More expensive than a CFL.

Pros: I have purchased a number of different LED bulbs in order to compare their performance and to help save the planet from excessive CO2 power plant emissions and mercury pollution. I purchased 5 of these for the chandelier over my dining table. These bulbs are the top performers in light quality (NO ONE has noticed that they were not incandescents), capacity to function with a dimmer switch, light spread (360*) and appearance (in my chandelier the heat sinks are hidden, appearance was a top requirement for my wife) that was equal to incandescents. As an apples to apples comparison to incandescents, these are funtionally equivalent to at least the (5) 25 watt incandescent bulbs they replaced. So I get the same or slightly brighter output for 35 watts instead of the 125 watts these 5 LED bulbs replaced. Do it for the planet.

Cons: Yes they cost more, but will pay for themselves in energy cost and reduced environmental impact.

Other Thoughts: If you care enough, you will buy LEDs to promote the emerging technology and assist the industry in attaining the economies of scale. The planet needs all of the help it can get.

Pros: It's an LED.

Cons: Despite saying 40W on the package, this is actually closer a 25W equivalent. A 40W bulb puts out about 550 lumens, but this only does 400 lumens. And for comparison a 550 lumen CFL uses 9 watts (61 L/W), this uses 7 watts to put out only 400 lumens (57 L/W).

Other Thoughts: You can buy a CFL with better energy efficiency for only $2. There is no reason to buy this - it costs more, and has worse energy efficiency.
