5 out of 5 eggsVery good bulb

Pros: 5,000K bright cool "daylight" color (I don't like warm yellow light); many years of life; big energy savings; 270-degree light output is a plus (most LEDs are very directional); my box says 5 year warranty, and made in Taiwan

Cons: Not dimmable (says not on the box); box says "not intended for use with enclosed fixtures" (metal neck gets fairly warm)

Other Thoughts: Very happy so far - would buy more if they are on sale again

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great and Excellent support

Pros: Sips energy and provides desired light for purpose intended.

Generates less heat than CFL units do

Larry at GPI provided excellent warranty RMA support when it was needed.

Cons: Output is a tad less than what I was hoping for, but this was my first entry into LED lights and I'm still very pleased with the purchase.

Other Thoughts: I bought two of these (special price) to use for my front and back door lights. I leave them on 24/7 and one blew after a couple of months of use. I emailed the manufacture in California and they shipped me a replacement for free. The box even included a UPS return label for the failed bulb, so I only had to make the initial effort to contact them to get a replacement. All it took was some initiative on my part. Simple and easy.

I will purchase more when another deal comes around.

The manufacture gives a 3 year warranty on these, so don't bother contacting NewEgg if you happen to have one fail.

5 out of 5 eggsThese bulbs are working fine

Pros: I recently bought some daylight lights (5000K wavelength) for my bedroom and computer room. Afterward, the soft white bulbs in the rest of my house looked dingy yellow. Along with the other bulbs that I replaced, I wanted daylight globe lights for my bathroom. I bought a set of GE Daylight globe CFLs locally, but they took 2-3 minutes to come up to full intensity, and while I could live with that in the living room (where I went with non-globe CFLs, I want my bathroom lights to come on as soon as I flip the switch. These LED bulbs that, and are 5000K wavelength. I'd have liked larger globes, but they are exactly the size that I expected from the picture and they are working great.

Cons: LED bulbs are coming down in price, but still much more expensive than CFLs.

Other Thoughts: I've read complaints from some that their LED lights didn't last nearly as long as manufacturer's claim. That's not specific to GPI LEDplux, but pretty much across the board. I don't know how long mine will last, but I'm keeping a copy of my invoice and the packaging in case I need to return them under warranty.

4 out of 5 eggsI have the "warm white" 3000K version

Pros: Very good brightness, Excellent diffusion, ok price

Cons: small heatsink gets very warm (though not enough to burn you), color could be a bit warmer (but still better than most LED bulbs I've used)

Other Thoughts: I actually have the 3000K version, not the 5000K version, so I suspect the light is MUCH colder from this one, but otherwise should be very much the same.

The main purpose of my review is to highlight the fact that directly on the box it says that the bulb IS dimmable, though the specs here says it is not. I have not tried it in a dimmable fixture, and I have no such intention, but it is a discrepancy.

5 out of 5 eggsNice light, if you get it on sale

Pros: I am in the process of swapping out CFLs for LEDs as the CFLs expire. So far I have tried about 10 different kinds of LEDs and these bulbs have a very nice color. I have one of these above my range and have had no problems seeing anything I am cooking. I will be buying more of these when I see them on sale.

Cons: Price when not on sale.

Other Thoughts: If they could only make a nice 60W equivalent that didn't break the bank....

4 out of 5 eggsGetting better

Pros: Sufficient light for 40 W applications
Mellow light and uniform distribution
Cool running

Cons: Used it in a fixture inverted. After weeks of operations ... the bulb part/ring began to separate from the base [plastic/plastic]. Super-glued it and it's fine.

Other Thoughts: They're getting better ... sufficient for lower light apps.

5 out of 5 eggsTrying'em all...

Pros: Been trying a sampling of the high end to the low end, this particular bulb is perfect for replacing globe incandescents in bathroom bar lights - light is even more "true" for makeup'ng.
Replace bulbs in a three light strip using 40W bulbs and watch your electricity meter slow to a crawl !

Cons: Could use a little bigger globe for more appeal; however lighting is perfect so no complaint here.

4 out of 5 eggsNice light dispersion

Pros: 270 degree light dispersion, good price when on sale

Cons: Price needs to drop a bit to make them everyday purchases.

Other Thoughts: The thoughts expressed here are my own opinion, and do not necessarily match those by anyone else. PEOPLE, STOP KVETCHING ABOUT THE BLUE-WHITE LIGHT. THEY'RE 5000K. If you buy ANY 5000K bulb without reading the description, you have no right whatsoever to drop a product's "egg" rating for your lack of knowledge. I am not picking on any one person, this is a general observation from reading reviews on many LED bulbs. If you like florescent lights, you'll LOVE these. They're perfect for light fixtures with a horizontal orientation. The lumen levels easily make these a 40W incandescent replacement.
