5 out of 5 eggsYee Haw

Pros: Pros
- Energy efficient
- Decent white light
- Very cool to the touch
- Instant on

Cons: Cons
- a bit pricy

Other Thoughts: Happy with these light bulbs. They are being used in a light fixture of a ceiling fan. We love the fact that they are instant on, and don't add to the 'heat' level of the bedroom. The level of light in the room is better when compared to 'normal' light bulbs. Looking forward to the years of energy cost savings we hope these bulbs provide.

4 out of 5 eggsMine is not dimmable

Pros: It saves energy and it lights up around a 40W light bulb. The light is whiter than my incandescent light bulbs and much whiter than my florescent bulbs. I paid around 20.95-5 discount. plus Tax. Once this light bulb is on it's at full brightness unlike florescent.

Cons: Mine will not dim nor will it turn on instantly. It has a second or so delay. I was disappointed I could not dim this light bulb.

Other Thoughts: I purchased a couple straight from China at "The online Auction" those other have a slight blue tint the GPI Ledplux does not (Same 7W). To be fair the Chinese Bulbs were less than half the price even with the discount. The one from China were a perfect fit for the front porch and for my room when I want low light. This one is brighter and much better. Will I buy more? I might but 15.95 is a bit stiff and they are not for every need around the home. I can see me buying a couple more later on. I would need prices to come down and more choices of brightness before I commit to more than a couple more.

5 out of 5 eggsGood bulb at good price when on sale

Pros: The bulb turns on instantly and does not need to warm up (full brightness from the instant it turns on). I did not purchase it for use with a dimmer and I am glad that I didn't since the NO box is checked next to the dimmable feature. Uses little energy. This was a test buy since it is my first LED light bulb (shaped as such anyway). I will be purchasing more of these as they go on sale again.

Cons: Not made in the USA

Other Thoughts: Installed it in the guest room since the in-laws keep every light on 24x7 when they are in town. I can't stand that... I guess they realize their days are numbered and don't have to worry about the future of the earth and its resources.

2 out of 5 eggsnot dimmable

Pros: worked at full brightness

Cons: was not dimmable. was using a lutron brand slide dimmer. had already ordered and gotten a honeywell brand led lights from newegg. they work very well. should have stuck with those. light worked at full power and was ok at slightly less. ordered three and tested two with same result. as soon as it was lowered more it started flashing and buzzing. was afraid it might go on fire. returned for refund.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall excellent bulb so far, good light color

Pros: Can't say much more than what has already been mentioned here -- The instant on is great, pleasing 3000K color is much closer to incandescent than most CFL's, provides surprising amount of light for supposedly 400 lumens, A19 shape fits in all similar applications as you'd expect, decent price especially when on sale.

Cons: Dimmable... but... it makes a buzzing noise in certain applications. I had tried it in an old school rheostat type dimmer that was in my dining room and it seemed to work ok with only minor noise, but outside on the exterior carriage light which has a photocell type light sensor switch, it had a noticeable oscillation and made a rather loud buzzing noise a bit like a swarm of bees. Out it came from that fixture, though I would have liked to benefit from the energy savings.

Other Thoughts: Of course, the durability is yet to be determined. It seems they are solid and well built. I would hate to drop one of these and shatter such an expensive bulb!

4 out of 5 eggsDefinitely NOT Dimmable.

Pros: looks well made

Cons: In the description it clearly states that these LED bulbs are dimmable (which is why I bought them). One one side of the box it says they are dimmable and on another side there is a stamp on it marked NO on dimmable, and guess what they are NOT dimmable. It's to bad because I really wanted these bulbs.

Other Thoughts: I will be returning them.
I hope they don't charge me a restocking fee.

4 out of 5 eggsdimmable or not?

Pros: Nice bright light. Somewhat whiter than my older CFLs.

Cons: The packaging and the Newegg page shows dimmable. The package has a stamped in ink box with dimmable yes/no boxes and No is handchecked on both box covers. Does not appear to dim well or smoothly. Was hoping for dimmable but not enough to return it.

Other Thoughts: We'll see how it holds up over time. Love that it turns on right away. No flicker.

4 out of 5 eggsBrighter than expected

Pros: I purchased four of these to replace CFLs that took too long to warm up. They were put in a ceiling fan light fixture with open sconces that pointed down at an angle.

The bulbs brightly lit the room. A little cooler temperature than I like, but whatever - they were WAY better than the CFLs they replaced, brighter, instant on and use half the power.

Cons: A little expensive, on sale they were 16 dollars each.

1 out of 5 eggsI don't like this bulb

Pros: Low power

Cons: Light doesn't shine down, only up. Bluish color.

Other Thoughts: I'm surprised more people are dissatisfied by the poor light spread. The light only projects up and out, not down. If you put it in a lamp on a table, the table will be dark. Look at the bulb. No light can shine down. Stay away from this one. Look at the Philips or EcoSmart bulbs at home depot. They have a much better quality light and they shine more evenly.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Comparable to a 40W incandescent, nice color.

Cons: Has a noticeable 60Hz flicker, which isn't a big deal in a shaded lamp application.
