Pros: For the price, I think this is a good purchase if you looking for something that gets you online and capable of mundane use. The specs really aren't bad for a daily user. Got it to get my wife off of a 8yr old gaming rig that I gave her 5 years ago. For what she uses computers for....this is perfect.

Cons: If I had to pick something bad, then I'd have to say there is no real storage upgrade ability. The motherboard only has two SATA connections, which I thought was strange, since they gave me a free 120GB SSD with the purchase of box. Since the HDD and the DVD player is installed, I can't put anything else inside. That's just weird man.

It could have had at least a DVD burner for backups. No biggie....I have a few lying around to replace the one that came with the box.

It should have come with a case fan. As a gamer from the old days, I've always put in extra fans in every computer I've built. I know this isn't going to be used for gaming, but I just feel weird not having a case fan. I'll likely put one on in a week or so...just because I know it will bug me if I don't.

Other Thoughts: Well, look...for me...at around $500, this was an easy way to get my wife a new(er) computer without any hassle for me. It's not fancy, and it's not really upgrade-able (storage-wise that is). But it booted right up and she was off and running. That's a win for me.

If you're looking for something more that just a computer to do your routine stuff, this may not be what you're looking for. If you're a builder and need something to get your kid or spouse up and running quickly...take a look at it. If you're like me, you have parts lying around that you can beef this thing up some if needs be.

It's my first Acer. It does what we need it to do, so if it doesn't die on us after a year or so of use, then I'll be perfectly happy with this purchase.
