Pros: Good Hardware: Overall, I am satisfied with this computer. My usage include Adobe programs, online gaming, and generic tasking. Nothing too fancy on either ends of those - such as duel tasking, heavy 3D graphics, etc.
For the price, I am very satisfied with the graphics card, the processor, and the 8 gigs of memory (3DDR). *Note: all 4 slots are used so you can't upgrade.
For the avid gamer, the graphics card could be updated for about $150 dollars more. This option would compete fairly well w/ the Acer system designed for gaming - yet costing around $1,400 dollars less. Currently, I play LOTRO and the settings are either high or medium high - looks great!
Unfortunately, the OS is Vista Home Premium. I have finally downloaded all the updates (about 8 or so reboots) to the Service Pack 2. However, I have ordered Windows 7 through the Acer website - a task that is easily accomplished.
Of course there is a lot of bloat ware that I have deleted too.
Cons: Poor Case Design: My case emitted a high vibration noise, only at certain times and when tilted as certain angles. I tracked down the noise to the area of the HD - located in the front of the unit, below the disc drive.
Originally, I contacted the Acer Support to see what they would avise me to do. The gentleman was a foreigner- but I managed to undertand his English. He gave me instructions to send my whole unit in for work via FedEx. I opted not to do this - and fortunately, through luck and technical skills, I think I fixed my problem.
Acer utilized metal on metal frames in the unit, for the 2 HD bays and 2 Disc bays. I ended up taking my unit apart and eventually pulled out the extra bay grate for both the empyt disc and empty HD bay. This seems to have solved the problem...so far.
Unfortunatly, the air intake for the case is located on the bottom of the front facing. Therefore, if you place your unit on carpet, the carpet covers up the entire intake. Poor design!
Other Thoughts: Please note, the right and topside of the case is very difficult to remove and place back on correctly. Took me several tries.
Additionally the front facing must be handled carefully! There are 6 plastic clips, and you MUST release the left side first - or you will break the right side off.
Finally, when installing the right and topside, you must keep the wires for the Media Expansion Bay from bunching up, or else the unit will not fit together properly.
One final note. While I had the face off, I routed the LED for the Acer logo in front to the back of the unit. That way I can see in the dark if I ever have to plug someting in while the unit (since it sits under my desk in the dark).

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Does everything I expected
Cons: This was a good buy until I discovered I'm stuck with VISTA for the foreseeable future. Should have purchased something with W7 installed.
Other Thoughts: If you are counting on getting a Windows 7 upgrade from ACER/Mentor Media, be prepared to wait months (yes I said MONTHS!) for it to be delivered.

Fixed the problem!

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Well I finally figured out the problem.
This is the power supply inside:
Max Wattage: 450
Peak Wattage: 500
450 is very low for this PC! Basically they cheapened out and put a bad power supply!
I bought a 750 Watt power supply from Best Buy and replaced it. It now behaves like a normal computer.
I should complain to ACER, but honestly the hassle is not worth it.
Cons: Paid $126 with tax for the new power supply
