5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done well

Pros: Great speed, real compact, plenty of USB ports and card slots, comes with all the accessories you'll need, and comes with that giant monitor. A really great value.

Cons: Comes preloaded with the typical junk software, but it can be removed fairly easily. Doesn't come with a disc copy of Vista Home, so reformatting will be difficult.

5 out of 5 eggsAcer products,Cust Svc

Pros: Every Acer product I have purchased has been TOP notch.
Esp if you stay in the mid $$ range items.
They are one of the TOP Computer companies, and they just had a VERY nice article written about the company in a prestigoous business mag.
It basically was a warning to other mfgrs........because Bang for Buck, Quality was par excellance.
And, yes, they are made in Asia.
Tech support personell in ALL countries are usually difficult to speak to, and understand.
It's called Global Economy.

Cons: Zero, from any product.......several, and NO returns of any kind.
Keep in mind, you do getwhat you pay for.
Stay w/ their top tier models, and you will be happy.

4 out of 5 eggsAcer is Affordable

Pros: First and foremost I should say that I bought this for it's low price for the options. I don't know about the other reviewers, but mine definitely has an HDMI output port and I plugged it into the 37" LCD TV that we have (mine didn't come with the monitor when I purchased it). The computer has just about every port you would possibly need - some in front for easy accessibility. Plenty of USB ports - something I could not say my iMac has. Firewire, VGA - you get it - read the specs. I'm pretty sure that this computer has the bang for the buck most people want in a home computer.

Cons: So - the speakers - yep, they're not the greatest - but they'll do. Personally since mine is hooked up to a TV via HDMI the sound comes through the TV. However, if quality sound is what you want, you probably are not going to find high quality speakers in a package price - at least not at this price point.

Other Thoughts: Face it - if you look inside a lot of computers - none of them have parts made by the box name (ie. even Apple computers don't contain parts that are made by Apple, such as video cards, etc.). So, just read the specs - do the comparison and you'll get what you need. As for tech support - get the extended warranty unless you like to buy new computers pretty often. And, if you have a problem within the store return policy - just take it back there. After that you have to work with the tech support and the vast majority of that will initiate overseas no matter what company you purchase from.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Convenient for All around use

Pros: Great screen, very small tower. Average specs for a decent price.

Cons: Reading other customer reviews, my wife (whom I bought this for) hasn't encountered any of these problems. I will say that the boot up time is longer than I expected from a new PC. Also, this thing comes with A LOT of bloatware, so be prepared to get rid of a lot of useless programs. Lastly, the speakers are kind of cheap sounding, so if you're big into watching movies, or listening to music on your PC, I'd probably shell out some extra bucks for a better pair.

Other Thoughts: My wife mainly uses this for schoolwork (she's a teacher) and it seems to do everything she needs it to do. I cannot get over how big a 22" screen looks compared to the 19" we had before. Considering you get such a big screen, and a decent performing PC (I'm going to eventually install one of my taxing PC games on here to see if it can handle it on lowest settings) for a pretty decent price, I find it hard to complain about this unit. Some people are having trouble with software, or receiving a dud, we must have been one of the fortunate ones that received a good one. All in all, not much complaints. Good buy if you want a working/home PC, not a gaming, home movie PC though.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: ONE THING ONLY: It was small

Cons: Well first of all, after having it for a while, had some problems with the hard drive... Took forever to contact the ACER company....The ACER Tech people you talk to BARELY even speak english.... (which means they route the calls to another country I think is somewhere in the middle east) So... Took forever to get them to understand, after that I sent the computer to them, then for them to say it was my fault the hard drive was bad... The guy was also VERY RUDE, so I demanded to speak to a supervisor, who conveintly wasn't there. They could give NO reason to me why it was MY fault the hdd was bad except saying they found something on the hard drive so it's my fault... And they wouldn't fix it ...... COMPLETE AND TOTAL LIES.... ACER IS A BAD COMPANY for routing their tech support calls to another country who barely speak english. And then to not even support their product? R

Other Thoughts: My advice is do NOT BUY... BAD TECH SUPPORT , BAD HARD DRIVE. COME ON ACER SUPPORT YOUR PRODUCT OR DO NOT SALE !!!!!!!!!!!!!

1 out of 5 eggsFurther comments on my review

Pros: Appears to be a good deal

Cons: Computer didn't work

Other Thoughts: It looks like a lot of people didn't like my review, so I will explain some more. The computer I got shorted out the first time I plugged it in, and then it never powered up. It has the strangest on/off switch I have ever seen: a bent piece of plastic at the top of the box that you press on. The monitor came with an HDMI connection and cable, but there was no HDMI connection on the computer. The computer had a DVI-D connnection, but the monitor did not have one, and there was no cable. The instructions called for both HDMI and DVI-D hookups. There was a VGA connection on both and a cable. I hope that clarifies it a little. I am currently waiting for a replacement from New Egg.

Pros: Very good right out of the box boots fast and runs good the monitor is GREAT

Cons: well the CD being in its side like it is it is really tricky to use mini CD's and the button to open the CD is alittle inconvenient power button is is alittle week too and is not the best design.

1 out of 5 eggsNot one bit satisfied (so far)

Pros: Good sized, inexpensive monitor that seems to work well.

Cons: Could not even get the computer to turn on. Cables and connections don't match up, and are not the same as what is on the instructions. No manual or discs for the computer.

Other Thoughts: The machine I got is totally defective. New Egg promptly agreed to replace it, and I am awaiting that. But I suspect that someone somewhere knowingly sent me a worthless machine. I will update my review when I finally get a working unit, but if I could do it over again, I would get something else.
