Awesome PC for the Money
- Pros: 1 TB drive
8 GB Ram 2.5 GHZ Quad Core nVidia GT220 Windows 7 64-bit
This thing runs quite. I turned it on the first time and had no problems. Setup was a breeze. Took all the bloatware off and it ran even better.
- Cons: The only thing I would say is a CON is that there is no front button on the drive cover to open the DVD drive. You have to go to computer and right click and hit eject. There may be an easier way to get it open, I just haven't found it yet.
- Other Thoughts: This PC is going to be used as a projection setup in my church for displaying words and video on a screen. For what we are needing it for, its kind of over kill, but we won't have to do any upgrades for a while. I did put COD4 on it to test the graphics out and it ran COD4 at a very good res and 4x AA and only had minor lag. The windows score was a 5.6
Little things add up
- Pros: -Lots of RAM and hard drive space
-Relatively quiet
- Cons: -Had to send back for DVD drive replacement
-Tons of bloatware -Bright blue LED -No physical media -Small power supply
- Other Thoughts: I've been using this computer for 2 weeks now and overall it's pretty solid, but several little problems and headaches have prevented a better score. Mainly, the CD/DVD drive has given me issues. It causes freezing in certain programs and has been operating slowly or sporadically in others. Because of this I have to send it back to Acer for repair; they won't just send me a new drive. Their version of Windows 7 comes preinstalled with a ton of bloatware that took almost an hour to remove. The power supply is barely enough to power the components included, let alone future expansions. I'm also not a fan of the bright blue LED that's constantly on and flashes while in Sleep Mode (I keep this in my bedroom so I have to shut it down every night). Acer also requires you to burn your own recovery disks and doesn't provide a clean copy of Windows 7. While all of these are pretty minor problems they have added up to a less than positive experience so far.
Excelent but
- Pros: Excellent PC for the price, it arrived at my house three days after i did order it.
- Cons: Does not come with any software, nothing at all.
I bought a ZT PC and it came with all kind of software including windows7,no Acer. So if something goes wrong with the hard drive I guess I have to waste my time calling ACER.
