5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the Price

Pros: I bought this system to upgrade my wifes old single core Athlon Compaq. This Acer is well built and does everything she needs to do. Mainly Wordprocessing and some publishing. She's not into gaming so I won't be upgrading PSU or GPU although I might add more ram once I find a brand I know will work with it.

Cons: When I first booted it up it asked to insert the boot disc, I knew what the problem probably would be so I opened the case and sure enough the data cable was hanging by the hard drive connector, might have been UPS rough handling or not?? But to me it was no biggie and I wouldn't even take an egg away for it.

Other Thoughts: Like others have stated, I wish it had come with the O/S disc.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent PreBuild, Can be Easily Modified

Pros: My old computer was outdated, and I needed something more powerful, this computer was perfect, heres the review.

Phenom Quad Core - Basically anything starts up within a few seconds,
including games, and I've never hit above 60% cpu usage yet.

6GB RAM - Even more than perfect amount of RAM

Windows 7 64 Bit - My life made simpler

1 TB HDD - More than enough space to store my games, movies, and music.

Easy to Modify - Come with a nice mid tower and you can basically put any part in that you want to upgrade. I suggest upgrading the psu if your going to do any ocing.

Quiet and cool - My old computer was louder than a fan on the old XBOX 360s and really was annoying, and this is just quiet and it runs pretty cool. Cpu runs around 40 Celsius and gpu runs around 50 Celsius.

Cons: Onboard GPU - Radeon 3200 series. Pretty bad fps on valve games in 1920x1080 on all highs, but I was doing fine (30-40 fps) in 1024x728 windowed. (View Other Slots)

300W PSU

Other Thoughts: I also purchased an XFX 1GB Radeon 5670 and plugged it straight into this computer. It worked perfectly even though requiring a 400w psu. I do plan up upgrading the psu so I don't burn out the card though.

Power Button looks really cool, although if you leave it on over night while you're trying to sleep, the blue light can get annoying and be bright.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value and Modification Potential

Pros: With its Phenom quad-core processor, 6 gigs of RAM, 1tb HDD, and HDMI readiness, this computer will do whatever you want to do right out of the box except perhaps high-end gaming. Like many others, I plan to update the PSU and video card as well. The computer has other pros as well; it has very accessible USB ports. and some style (the power button looks like it came off the set of the new Tron movie). and comes with very little "bloatware." It is also very quiet, and has so far handled its job as a media center and light gaming computer very well.

Cons: The virus protection software trial had expired well before I even purchased the computer which I thought was really strange. It's not really a "con" for me because I don't like theat company's software anyway, but if you are relying on your new computer to have some sort of virus protection then you may need a backup plan.

There are also some accessibility issues with the optical drive bays. Each bay has a door that you can either flip down manually or will open and close manually when you tell the computer to eject/ load a disk. However, the way the doors are positioned it is very hard to wiggle your finger in behind the door to press the button on the drive to eject or insert a disk. It still works the other way, but sometimes I just want to push the button and yank out the disk, you know? Not quite a con, but rather a minor annoyance.

Other Thoughts: Ships with a wired keyboard and mouse. Most desktops do, but why are wireless keyboards and mice not a standard yet?

Price shop this computer. I've seen it for several different prices at different times.

5 out of 5 eggsFabulous computer! awesome price

Pros: i run a website and edit video on sony vegas 9 , this computer has soo much ram that play back render is near instant and playing HD movies is seamless. on top of that i have a ton of HDD space to store all my HD space intensive files. love this comp runs quietly huge energy saver.

2 things to make this a quality comp vs. price would be
- 500w psu 30-50$
-1gb ddr5 pciex16 from diamond 130$

check the video card and psu sections for these parts

Cons: cant play really good games like WOWraiding AOC MW2 or battlefield 2

or run photoshop very well.

low energy saving psu
no dedicated graphics card

read the cheap fix in the pros sections.

Other Thoughts: n/a

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy!

Pros: Great value for what you get. You will most certainly need to get a more powerful PSU unit. This particular unit comes with a 300W PSU, but that's no biggie Newegg shipping me a 650W Corsair PSU as we speak. Not that big of a deal upgrading from XP to Windows 7 either. Lastly, this PC is blazing fast. I dunno about you, but I'm used to programs taking a few secs, but not with this one. Programs boot super fast

Cons: Only con I can think of is the PSU, but that's standard fare with ready-made desktops so no biggie there. It works great thank you Acer and Newegg!

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II x4 @2.6 Ghz, 6 Gb DDR3 Ram 1066 Mhz,
1 TB SATA HDD(great!), AMD 780G chipset, Win 7 Premium 64-Bit

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great computer, everything was perfect when I pulled it out of the box and set it up.

Cons: Only a 300w power supply. If looking to add a graphics card, definitely need a new power supply.

4 out of 5 eggsMid range computer with an eye towards the future!

Pros: ~Phenom II X4 (Quad Core), 6GB DDR3 (can be bumped to 16GB), quiet, 1TB HD (nice!), mATX motherboard which supports ATI's Hybrid CrossFireX technology and DirectX 10, as well as HDMI output...very expandable for a smallish MB

Cons: ~No connectivity with Interwebz!...worked long enough to download 32 Win7 updates but then conked. I thought it was my DSL service so I phoned for a housecall from U-Verse support. AT&T Techie came next day because I thought it was my ATT DSL gateway, but after new cords and troubleshooting... looks like bad ethernet...Will get the Acer locally serviced because the hassle of RMA for this is not worth it...explains only 4 eggs.

~Have to burn your own restart disks...Man, even those old Pentium clones had factory restarts included...Why can't we still get a Window disk included?!?

Other Thoughts: I have always been an AMD guy, from Pentium 1 & 2 clones to my five year old Gateway Athlon 64, which is now growing "long in the tooth". It has had all the upgrades it can muster (max RAM/new power supply/video cards, SB audigy, etc) With the minimal requirements of all the new games coming out, I realized it was time for an upgrade. This system has the ability to expand at least a year or two...It comes with a 300W PSU, so I swapped that out immediately with a Rosewell 530W...ready for the next future ex-video card

5 out of 5 eggsgood computer

Pros: Packed well, shipped fast, nothing loose inside case, fired right up, runs flawlessly. Seems very quiet compared to my older computers, nice looking case. We were used to Windows XP but Win 7 is an easy transistion. Very pleased with the performance so far. The case features a small bin or tray on top to hold MP3 players, etc. when they are charging, very handy. I like the USB ports located on top of the case, angled forward, they are easy to use and see.

Cons: No MS Windows 7 disc.
