4 out of 5 eggsdecent for the price

Pros: cost effective

Cons: - 1 star

side buttons for disk drive trays limit how the unit can be placed. They could also use a knob / indent / something as they sit flush and can be hard to locate.

Other Thoughts: would buy again

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Purchase

Pros: Too many to put together at once (not in any particular order). 12 USB ports ??? i/c 4 in front (top - which provide great accessibility), 6 in the back + 2 more from a separate card (I guess USB 3.0 supported) ; card reader (I am able to boot from any card + CD + HD: just press F12 at boot time). Stock Memory - yes it is only 2GB. I ordered 2x4GB dual channel (Newegg: N82E16820231426 - G-Skills Ripjaw X series), installed and bingo (install in same color slot). I left 2 GB stick in there and BIOS and system shows 10GB (specs shows Max 8GB supported - I guess not). Checked with CPU-Z ( - same results 10GB on board). I took out that 2GB and stick into my older PC - now that has 6GB. So I'm happy with that. YES It takes 4GB sticks. Go for it. Just to let you guys know, that Win 7 can be upgraded to Win 8 for $40 until Jan 2013 (see: for how to get windows 8).

Cons: Memory: Stock memory is low. Video card shares memory. Can upgrade to a better one. Stock PS on kinda low end. All of these can be upgraded easily and fairly cheap (one at a time may be). Video card has a tight adjustment when connecting HDMI cable. You may have to wiggle a bit or open the case and readjust the card. None are big deals.

Other Thoughts: I still can not determine the status of 2 USB ports. Are those for 3.0 or just added for the hack of it. I don't know. Graphics card bring down the over all user experience rating. However, watching DVD/media on my TV does not show any -ve effects.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Happy With the Acer Am3910

Pros: Nicely Designed, Plenty of USB ports, Nicely wired on the inside, Extremely quiet, lightweight, Large harddrive 500GB, Good value for the money at the time of purchase. The out of box experience was perfect. Shipped in a very sturdy Acer box. Graphics card easily handles my video.

Cons: PC comes with only 2GB of Ram. I purchased 6 more GB and this PC is performing even better. I purchased the ram about 5 days after purchase. The power supply is only 300W, but it is sufficient.

Other Thoughts: If you want to purchase a good desktop, I highly recommend this pc. I've build many Desktop Pc's in the past and I did not feel like building, yet another one, so I purchased this model and I am very happy with it. I removed all the Bloatware and I am especially happy.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing computer

Pros: I got this Acer system, needing something to help me with school and something to have fun with. A friend helped me choose all the components to put together a good system. It comes with a high end i3 processor and a pretty good graphics card. I had ordered 8 gbs of ram to put into it. After putting the ram into the computer it works like a charm. Haven't had any problems and doesn't show any signs of running into any. I am able to do some pretty good gaming as well and work all the programs that I need to for school so I am very happy!!!! Thanks NewEgg!

Cons: Non

5 out of 5 eggsGreat home use PC

Pros: - Dedicated graphics card, probably will be good for a long time when it comes to minimal operating system, web, or business application requirements. Good for mid level gaming now.
- Intel i3 processor
- Top USB ports and audio, very convenient and spaced out well enough but I still used short extenders for safety.
- Plenty of USB ports in the back
- Recessed area where the top ports are located, maybe to set down your phone, PDA, mp3 player while syncing/charging.
- Multi-card reader
- CPU cooling. The tube over the CPU fan is visible in the product images. Haven't felt it get warm in the past two months we've had it and it's been super quiet. No jet engines here.
- 4 RAM slots, 4 expansion slots, 6 SATA ports.
- Got a second stick of RAM free from a deal, if you didn't manage to get it a second 2 gig stick doesn't cost a lot to make it 4 which gives Windows 7 and a lot of apps and or light games plenty of breathing room.

Cons: -The chassis has one front facing 3.5" bay inside but no hole for it outside.
- Big blue empty space on the motherboard ports area looks a bit odd, a parallel and serial port wouldn't hurt but I guess anyone who needs that could buy a card along with their new PC. They are cheap.
- No USB 3.0, but that can be added
- Bloatware, but that's easy to get rid of. Installed MSSE and Chrome.
- You have to burn the restoration discs yourself, I've noticed all new PCs require you to do that if you want the discs.
- The keyboard is a little flat, I left my dad his old one cause he likes it better. Even I have an old PS2 keyboard for myself.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my father. I had been wanting to build him one for a long time but he insisted his nearly 10 year old PC worked just fine for internet and his accounting programs.. then it failed. As far as I can tell, it's an issue reinstalling XP (which is probably the best that thing can run other than Linux, with Athlon XP, upgraded to 1 gig ram, PATA drive, no PCIe, on-board 8mb video) could fix if not a new drive, but it was time. He's happy with the new one and he caught on to Windows 7 just fine. I only disabled the peek feature since that even disorients me sometimes.

Overall this is a great computer for someone that doesn't need a lot and it still provides much more, it is most definitely not the minimum. It seems sturdy so far and I can see it sitting on his desk for the next five if not ten years.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mid range home PC

Pros: -Great value considering components (all in all with rebate and 2GB extra RAM came up to $390)
-Can be upgraded to become a decent gaming rig, got it for my parents though
-Runs quiet

Cons: None so far

I got an extra 2GB of ram (kingston), but that was just to bolster its performance

4 out of 5 eggsIm shocked at how well it runs WOW

Pros: Bought it for a friend who is not too PC Savvy. I'm a hard core gamer who buys a new $3k rig about every 3-4 years.
Paid $379 and added $45 for 8gigs of G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3.
When I got it I hooked it up and got rid of all the useless software installed Mozilla SpyBot S&D ect. figured id install wow too just to see if it would run it.
loading time seemed kinda long probably because im used to SSD but..
I was Shocked!! I got 40fps on med settings dx11 (shadows off/low) In heavy populated area.
I wish I would have remembered to check the Windows gaming rating before dropping it off.

Cons: for under $400 there are no cons

Other Thoughts: upgrading the Graphic card would add some punch but with the 300w psu your very limited.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little PC

Pros: Very nice build quality to the case, reasonable access inside, built-in card reader, very quiet. 4-4GB Crucial sticks of RAM (also on Newegg) worked great - 16GB out the door. Free shipping was terrific (Newegg is the best!).

Cons: It should ship with 4GB of RAM. In true Acer fashion the RAM that was included was Kingston (not some unknown brand). Not a con, just an observation. I was hoping that there would be more SATA connectors on the power supply, and maybe even a set of leads for a graphics card, but for $379 on sale I can't quibble.

Other Thoughts: It's only an i3, and the video card is not for gaming, but it's stable and fast.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Running smooth so far.

Cons: A bit short on RAM but I knew about that and bought extra at the same time. Graphics isn't greatest but Shouldn't be to hard to upgrade.
